How to replace bulbs

I have seen numerous reviews mentioning the difficulty of replacing the bulbs. The problem is that unless you have installed the vent yourself, you may not know what the base of the bulb looks like -- so you don't know how to remove them. The bulbs have a GU10 base, which means 2 pins that have a round disk at the end of each pin. The disks hold the bulb from falling out. To remove the bulb, press up on it while rotating it about 1/4 turn, then wiggle it. Bosch could help customers by including a diagram and explanation in the installation or user manual.
We have used this ventilation hood for 2 years and have had no problems. It does a good job and is reasonably quiet. We did replace the two 35-watt halogen bulbs with 5-watt LED bulbs that are brighter and whiter.

Good looking and other Stats good, BUT ...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We like the aesthetics, fit, finish and other stats, but the extremely difficult to deal with lights and amazingly bad switch place (I'm 6'-2") ruin the product. If these would have been thought through, this would be a great product.

Broken welds and cheap stainless

We have had this product installed in a new home for almost 3 years. The spot welds on the front of the unit have now broken and the low quality stainless has begun to tarnish in multiple spots. Would have expected better craftsmanship and quailty from a supposed "high end" manufacturer.

RIDICULOUSLY LOUD!!!!

On high this thing is LOUD!! Not only the fan motor noise but the fans vibrate the metal cabinetry making it so loud you have to yell to hve a conversaton in a large room.

Bosch 500 vent Hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had no problems installing the hood or finding the two lights for it, workes very well in venting. I don't use Hi very often but when I do it workes great but is a little to loud, I am still very satisfied on how good it vents. Looks great too!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with my hood. I updated my kitchen appliances to stainless steel. I selected this hood to match my décor and my Bosch Stainless Steel Cooktop. I like the brushed finish and the 4 fan options to clear the air of smoke and odor. I like the fact that I can put the mesh filters in the dishwasher to clean. I was not happy that the halogen lights were not included in my purchase. I had an extended delivery date so when I was told that the bulbs were not included; I was a bit surprised and irritated. With the price of the hood, the halogen lights should have been included (or someone should have told me at purchase, so I could have purchased the lights at the same time). From a functional standpoint, I love how quick the air can be cleared when using.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great range hood

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this. Have had it for 5 years now and its solid. For what it is it works very well; it is noisy even on the low setting but I don't think that's avoidable when its moving so much air and recirculating it.
