Loud but effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Like most other reviews suggest, the low setting is a very tolerable noice and the high setting is loud. I ducted straight up through the ceiling and I can say that this works quite well. I do find it necessary to use the high setting for high heat cooking for things like searing meat. I have a 30 inch Bosch stove with a big central burner which is an excellent spot for optimal ventilation. If you try to use a front burner and the low setting it will pull the smoke but not enough and tiny grease droplets will be deposited on the front and top which is easy enough to clean. I purchased this to complete a set which I think made this worth it, otherwise I would probably look for one with a little better set of features and less noise. It definitely works well though and I don't regret the purchase.

Beautiful Hood, but quite loud.

The first hood was scratched (we didn't notice until after install) and the fan did not work. The second hood was missing pieces. It looks beautiful and works great, but it quite loud.

Great Performance & Look!

Replaced a microwave vent (OTR) with this product, as we cook a lot. Looks great, low setting sufficient for 90% of use, not too noisy, easy to clean and GREAT PERFORMANCE. We love it!

Does Its Job Well

Great Design, But!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The main reason we bought this fan was design and modern looks. good quality fan on the outside, However, I do not understand why only two speeds and not a variable speed fan, this is a deal breaker. At the lower setting its not strong enough if you cooking and need a fan, but at the 2nd speed it is so obnoxiously loud, after a few minutes you just want to take a hammer and smash this garbage fan. Bottom line this fan is useless, do not buy it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
