Good features, bad system

I've bought it without knowing android system and as I didn't want a smartphone, just something that allowed me using wifi anywhere, I decided to buy this. Also, Philips is an amazing brand for me, I just trust its products.
I've been using Gogear Connect for almost 6 months. I knew that there was no camera and that was OK for me, cause even if there was one, quality would be poor. But I didn't know there was no SD card slot. If I had knew that, I would have bought the 16 GB model.
My purpose was, afterwall, using wifi, watching videos, youtube, listening to music, apps, skype, good bluetooth, and Gogear Connect allowed me all of that, a little more, with really great quality.
There was some apps I could not install cause of its specifications, but I didn't mind.
Now, the poor parts: SYSTEM AND SCREEN CRASH CONSTANTLY! At the first time it happened (1 day after buying it) I had to make it work by pressing Reset button. It started working well again. But after 6 months, it keeps happening at least once a day. If I were not such a peaceful, patient person, I would have thrown it against a wall 5 months ago.
Why didn't I return it to the store after the problem started? Cause I had 30 days to use the produt and test it, so I decided to know it better before deciding what to do. After that, I really wanted to keep it. I thought there were still more pros than cons.

Now, everytime I use Songbirg, screen freezes, song keeps playing, but touchscreen doesn't work. I have to wait for about 2 minutes until it gets back, ou reset system. But when I play any music with another app, it doesn't happen. Clearly, Songbird is the problem.
Sometimes, system just crashes, makes some creepy sounds, screen gets black, and the only thing to do is reseting it.

If I recommend it to anyone? If you're a patient person like me, and will get used to just press the reset button and restart what you were doing, then I definitely do recommend it. It does the job.

But it you need something really great, buy something with a better processor and with a memory card slot, or you'll regret.
Pros: great audio, wifi works great, i use it as a phone with skype, great video quality, really fast recharging, beautiful design, i love android, it's a philips
Cons: you can't install some apps, screen freezes all the time, system crashes constantly, no camera, no sd card slot, you can't uninstall pre-loaded apps, battery lasts for little time but recharges fast

I bought my Philips Go Gear Connect about 5 months and what can I say other than a huge waste of money. Very simple cheap design and extremely slow prformance everytime I use this device I am always so close to just slamming it on the floor. Also the Android program on this mp3 player is a joke. This device is definitely not worth the money and Im telling others to avoid this product at all costs.
Cons: always crashes cheap design unreliable

Worst Expensive MP3 player

The mp3 player worked fine without the factory update. My mp3 player does not turn on anymore and I only had it for a week. The screen is so breakable. Not worth your money.
Pros: android internet apps, easy to use
Cons: you can't find a screen protector, you won't find a case

I have only had this product for a day and I am very displeased with it. The power/lock button has become lodged in place, and will trigger at random times. It has a hard time streaming audio and video, and it comes with too many preloaded applications that hog and slim the memory. It is very slow running, cannot handle two applications/functions at the same time, many applications are incompatible with it, and it is just overall a poorly executed knock off of other products. I used to trust Philips electronics, but this product has greatly displeased me.
Pros: good idea
Cons: slow, overly preloaded, waste of money

I had to replace the first one i got with in a few days it did not even have close to the battrie life that it was met to have and the replacement (from the store) lasted about one month before the screen would go white and the shut down, sometimes after a few min. or anytime during the battrie life.
the battrie life on my unit after 3 months gets about 8-10 of music play.

Day after xmas mine broke too!

Yup, Just like the other review, my connect won't turn back on the following day. I am reviewing other mp3 players before returning it this weekend. I had big hopes but my son only got a big disappointment. I guess I will probably go with the Samsung Galaxy. No Ipod for me.
Pros: good capabilities without buying an ipod.
Cons: reliability

It's the day after Christmas, and the thing won't turn on! Back to the store it goes. I will get another one, but that's it. Maybe I should pay a little more and get an ipod. At least that's a quality product. Maybe the saying is true. Pay more for quality products.

Great features, but crashes often.

This is a great mp4 player, but it crashes very often (once a week at least). There is no consistency with what happens before it crashes (other than it's been in sleep mode#.
The alarm also stops working every now and then. When it doesn't go off, I check the time on it, then when the minute changes #6:27 to 6:28) the alarm goes off.
Pros: android platform, android store, radio included
Cons: crashes often
