Okay, we have now owned this refrigerator since September and are ready to review the unit. First thing I need to get out of the way is it took us 90+ days to receive the unit. It was out of stock everywhere and we had to wait for it to arrive from Korea by container ship.
With that said everything from this point forward has been good. The problems I have read about on other reviews like the ice maker issues, warm water dispensed and so on have not manifested themselves in our unit. I had one ice jamb by the full sensor on the is maker but simply opened the door to the ice maker and tapped the jamb and it's been all good since then. The water dispensed will give you about 15 to 20 oz of chilled water every 10 minutes or so. If I need it cold right away I just add ice and it's all good. My old unit had a larger tank inside the fridge and would supply more but I would rather have the extra capacity in the unit verses a constant stream of chilled water. I figure that's what the ice is for anyway.
The one common complaint is the water dispenser
lever getting scratched easily with a glass. I will vouch for that one. It is covered with stainless steel and if you move the glass around while dispensing water it will scratch the stainless. Not a big deal but a simple plastic coating over the leaver could help that issue (that is until that gets marred up and looks bad too). I don't see a good solution besides going with a cheaper looking lever.
The capacity inside is good considering the size that you lose from it being counter depth. The only reason I gave 4 start for value is the fact that if you don't need counter depth you get more for less with the standard size equivalent. However, I would have needed to uninstall my patio door completely to get the standard size in my house. Standard is now huge...
Other than the relatively minor items above this is a very good refrigerator that looks good inside and out and serves our need quite well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice but Expensive

We needed a counter depth model due to the layout of our kitchen. A counter depth model costs significantly more than the larger version of the same fridge, which means you pay more for less space.
That being said, there are two main issues with this item:
1. Ice maker: Ice loads at an angle into the ice-keeper. This causes sensor to detect a full ice keeper when it is barely half full and causing ice maker to stop making ice. To overcome this problem, you must manually redistribute the ice. This should not be the case for such an expensive refrigerator.
2. Bottom freezer: Each time door is opened entire contents of freezer is slid out, resulting in ice build up you do not have with a side-by-side model.
Pros: very bright fridge

I did my homework prior to this purchase and I could not be happier. The counter depth is perfect for my space. Having less depth concerned me but the overall storage of the fridge is more than adequate. Having 2 doors gives a large view of all my contents. The shelving on the doors provides an incredible amount of room for condiments, etc. This model has the slim ice maker inside the left door and it hardly interferes with the fridge space. The lift out ice container is great to refill the lower ice basket. The ice maker is quiet and is quick to refill itself. This model runs quiet. The LED lighting is another wow factor.
This freezer has the 2 shelves above the deep drawer which helps with organizing the frozen contents.
Pros: Style/Design, Features/Settings

Excellence, with a significant flaw

We've had this refrigerator for over two months now, and in most respects it has been highly satisfactory: quiet, counter-depth, spacious interior that's well laiid out, good at maintaining appropriate temps in both compartments. The big drawback is the icemaker. We like its compact size, and it produces ice well, but it's impossible to use the in-door dispenser without clogging it. We've needed a hairdryer three times now to remove frozen chunks of ice I've tried all the troubleshooting suggestions without success. My advice is to ignore the dispenser, produce a batch of ice cubes and dump them into the bin in the freezer, then get your ice there. The water dispenser works fine, but the ice dispenser consistently fails to work as advertised and is a source of frustration in an otherwise good product.

I purchased this product because I am doing a remodel and the contractor suggested counter depth refrigerator as my kitchen is small. I did my research and found this refrigerator. I always had a side-by-side but was willing to give this a try. I just love it, it holds a lot more food than I thought, keeps my fresh produce fresher. The interior lighting is amazing! My only negative feedback is that it should come with an egg tray, not a deal breaker though.

Great Fridge

We love our new LG refrigerator. The only negative I can think of is that the doors tend to slam if you're not careful.
Besides that, it is laid out very well and maximizes its capacity, particularly the freezer.
I would definitely recommend this product.

LOVE this fridge!!

I did TONS of research and knew I wanted a counter depth refrigerator and ice maker in the door. I looked at several brands but always went back to the LG. Love the fact that the ice maker does not take up valuable shelf area. We had the fridge delivered and they set it up, which was a breeze. Everything has been wonderful and we love our new refrigerator. For those of you who don't think you get enough ice, just dump some into the basket in the freezer... simple solution! I love the French doors because everything is at eye level, making it easy to see. The bottom freezer is great too...you can really pack it in there!
