Love it but has design problems

I love the look of this fridge and buying it to replace a side by side it has so much more room. There are 3areas that need improvement. 1. The ice maker as mentioned by others has a problem with the ice melting a little and clumping up so ice doe not dispense. Too bad to because I love that the dispenser isnt taking up room in the freezer. 2. The produce drawer should be 2 drawer so larger produce fits. Also, I'm not sure how to regulate the humidity. It would be nice if the deli drawer was split in 2 as well so you don't have to open both doors to get into it.
3. The freezer is wonderful but for some reason it frosted up and there was no apparent reason.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Finally! A counter depth fridge with space!!
on April 12, 2013

Moved into a new home where a counter depth fridge was the only option. However, everyone around me said don't do it! There just isn't enough space. Some have even bought regular depth, but regretted that as they stick out too far.
I searched and searched and discovered this refrigerator. It is awesome! All the space you could every need inside, and an ice maker that makes enough ice that we can store some in the extra container in the freezer.
The only reason I didn't give it all 5 starts is the freezer. Although the concept of the 3 drawers sounds nice, it does limit your freezer space. It would be better with two drawers so when you have a lot in your freezer, you can shut the drawers without them getting stuck on food. I often have to rearrange items in order to not get them stuck on upper drawers when closing. I feel my freezer is smaller than it would be without all three drawers. Concept sounds good, but the execution isn't. Otherwise, I highly recommend this refrigerator!
Everyone around me is looking at getting one of these, as well as new people moving into the area with the same issues I had! Buy it! You'll love it!
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, organization of refrigerator

Flawed ice-maker in otherwise good refrigerator
on August 14, 2013

This model offer a large amount of capacity - seemingly more than any competitive counter-depth model. Temperature is maintained will. The unit is relatively quite. The ice-maker is flawed. A flap inside the ice chute is supposed to open when a cup pressed against the ice-maker, and close after the cup is release. However, the flap will close after it has been open a few seconds, causing ice to stop dropping. Repeated attempts to actuate the ice-maker will fail to open the chute flap. After some time has passed the ice chute will open and a large amount of ice will fall - often to the floor. This design renders the ice-maker unusable for most families. There are other idiosyncrasies with the ice maker that further make it unusable. This model should be avoided. There

Unhappy with purchase
on June 7, 2012

The refrigerator is nice looking but has some major flaws. My two biggest complaints are the produce drawers and the ice maker. The produce drawers are so small that I am not able to store many things in them. This week for example, I brought home some bok choy and romaine and was unable to fit either of them in the drawers. There are three of them all in a row and I think two would have been better so that larger items could fit. My second complaint is the ice maker. The ice maker is in the refrigerator door, so each time the door is opened the ice is exposed to the cooler air and causes it to melt some. Eventually the ice will no longer dispense out of the door dispenser. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with this purchase, especially given the price point.

I received delivery of my Counter Depth LG Refrigerator and it is an amazing product. I'm very pleased with my purchase. I love that the ice maker is in the door and doesn't take room away from the refrigerator space. I highly recommend this refrigerator.

Counter depth LG - not enough space in doors
on January 6, 2014

We bought this product because our current frig was 30 cf and stuck out at least 6 inches from the cabinets - we were remodeling our 30 yr old kitchen and needed something that fit in the space and would hold alot. I am disappointed on the small spaces on both doors. The left side only has a depth enough to put salad dressing bottles at an angle! Because of this, the things such as mustard, salad dressing and jams that used to fit in the door have to be put on a shelf and get pushed to the back of the frig.. ALSO we bought this frig because of the ability for it to make ICE FAST - it does NOT do this. We have run out of ice way too many times when we have just had a small family gathering! The ICE PLUS feature does NOT produce ice quickly as we thought it would and because the ice bin is very small, we run out of ice frequently.

We decided to replace our crowed side by side fridge. My wife settled on a french door bottom freezer. After much research and shopping, looking at all that were on the market, we settled on the LG counter depth model (lfx25991st). We are extremely satisfied! Plenty of room, slim in the door ice maker has the perfect size ice cubes and cold water, and the LED lighted interior is awesome.

Refrigerator Perfection

We wanted a new counter depth refrigerator that provided us with maximum refrigeration and freezer capacity. We wanted the refrigerator, due to its size, to be a substantial positive to the overall design of our kitchen. We looked at several refrigerator/freezers and were immediately and substantially impressed by the LG refrigerator. The LFX25991ST meets every one of our considerations and concerns for a new refrigerator. We are absolutely thrilled with this refrigerator and the LG's uncompromising attention to quality and consumer needs.
