[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I searched for two years for a new gas range and finally found what I wanted. The GE Cafe has met all of my standards and then some. I was skeptical at first after reading some negative reviews. The fan makes a nominal sound and is not intrusive. The convection works like a dream. The stainless steel is easy to clean using a sponge with dish detergent and wiping with a dry microfiber cloth. The appearance is sturdy and handsome. I love it. Will be adding the other appliances in the GE Cafe line too. Buy it, you will be glad you did.
After reading many reviews and comparing ranges of different manufacturers I finally decided to purchase the GE Cafe because it had all the features I wanted. The one thing that held me back was the complaints of the fan. Now having used the stove I can tell you that the fan is hardly noticeable and that people who are complaining about their fan noise probably need GE service to visit them and correct something. The convection fan only goes on when you are convection roasting or convection baking. The second fan goes on when you are baking or roasting at high temperatures. Even with both of them on, I don't even notice it unless i'm thinking about it. It is not irritating or annoying. All convection cooking requires a fan to circulate the air.
The only problem I see is that the stove top scratches easily and one has to be very careful not to allow the gratings to scratch the top of the stove when removing them. A little extra care will avoid trouble.
The stove performs beautifully and because the oven is so large, I was shocked to see how much could be cooked at once when making a big meal. It is a pleasure to use and I highly recommend it because the features are outstanding.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love this range. The gas cook top configuration provides me with flexibility when cooking big meals and it can boil water in no time flat. The electric oven heats up quickly and bakes like a dream. The unit is insulated so well that the cabinets on either side of the unit do not get warm like they did with my old unit. Before getting this range I had to be careful not to put things like chocolate chips in a cabinet along side of the range or they would melt but not with this one. I cannot think of one negative thing to say about this product.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let me first start with installation. I installed myself and had no trouble with connections. With easy access to the adjusting feet, it was easy to level. I wouldn't recommend adjustment after pushing into place since the feet would be difficult to reach. Connecting went smoothly and the only complaint here is that the back of the range is not recessed evenly. It protrudes in the middle and my wall plug prevents me from pushing all the way to the wall. Your setup might be different (offset receptacle). Check dimensions prior to buying! If you're not comfortable with making a gas connection, call a qualified installer. We make a lot of meals from scratch so we do a lot of cooking on this range. The 5 burners were a major buying factor since this is an uncommon feature. The griddle that comes with the range and fits in the middle is a bonus. The rear burners leave something to be desired as they can be used for small pots or simmering, but have some trouble boiling medium to large pots of water. The burner in the front has a "power boil" notch on the handle and it does what it says. The two front burners put out a lot of surrounding heat and I have to be mindful of whats on the counter next to the range when cooking. The range surface can get very hot because of this (I had ceramic before, stainless retains the heat). Not a big deal, just have to be careful. Stovetop is a cinch to clean. Absolutely love the oven. Convection is great, cooks evenly and fast. Made (3) sheets of cookies at one time and it cooked them all evenly! Note: convection fan runs for a while sometimes after turning off. I found out that this is a feature to protect the front digital controls from overheating. Completely normal. Some complain that the fan is too loud... I would compare it to a range hood fan on medium speed. Not bad. Meat thermometer works well, still getting used to it. I will most likely never use the warming drawer and this figures to be the only wasted feature for me. Overall, this is a great product. They say you get what you pay for, and the GE Cafe line is a nice product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my stove! I have had it for only 4 months now but I use it daily and have become familiar with what it can do. I love how the grates on top go all the way across the top of the stove. My old stove had no grate in the center so it was easy for things to fall off the grates while canning or moving heavy pots.
The oven seems huge to me and with 3 racks rather than the typical 2, I am able to easily bake multiple pizzas or several other dishes at once for my large family. I really wanted the 3rd oven in the bottom so I could bake more things at the same time but with the extra oven rack, I haven't even needed to use the bottom baking drawer yet! I am looking forward to using it for Thanksgiving when I will need to bake multiple things at different temperatures.
I was not familiar with convection baking when I purchased the oven so it took a little trial and error to bake things correctly using it. But now I love it. Things bake more quickly and they are done beautifully.
I love the professional look of the oven, I love the way it bakes, I love the way it cooks. I am very happy with my purchase!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have enjoyed this range for about 4 years now. Love the industrial look and have had no problems.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Burners are great, especially the power boil. The stainless scratches very easily. The oven fan is very annoying. It comes on when the oven is preheating and remains on until the oven has been turned off and cools down. Do not underestimate how unpleasant this is, especially if the oven is on for an extended amount of time.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a large family, so I was thrilled to find a stove/oven that would fit into my kitchen which included a real cooking drawer. It works great. We had only one slight problem. I discovered that when I used all the features at once AND my microwave (right above it), I flipped the breaker every time. We had to have a dedicated circuit wired in to accommodate the extra power needed. Having done that, I'm a happy cook!
