Awesome cooking unit, but tough to keep clean

Everything I read about this range lived up to the glowing remarks. Good heat options, well designed, great oven. In other words, cooking on it is a dream. But I am baffled at how easy it is to look dirty, and how hard it is to keep clean. The burner rings seem to draw black soot and absorb food. I have owned this GE for about 4 months now, and have already given up keeping them clean. The seems of the top to sides have nooks and crannies where food spills build up. How hard would it be to have those sealed? Also, the top scratches too easily. I already have deep lines from the grates not being perfectly aligned. Shouldn't happen. Overall, a terrific range, I so not regret the decision. But hopefully 20 years from now when I buy my next range I will pick one that performs AND cleans easily, scratch-free.

Love a gas stove

I love gas stoves & the burners are easy to clean & cook very well. The best feature is the middle griddle, which I use frequently. The warming oven below is handy.

Works OK but...

Grill scratches the stove top stainless steel quite easily so be careful. Burner caps discolor the first few times you use them and the stains or what ever it iw won't come off. GE sent us several replacement caps but they all do the same thing. The oven quit working in the first month of ownership. Technician was checking the oven and had to remove the lower oven drawer. It broke when he pulled it out. GE did agree to replace the stove. We are hoping the second is better than the first but we noticed the burner caps have the disclosing problem. Oh well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wonderful range

I have had this range for four months and my wife and I love it.
The grill plate over the center burner is wonderful for making grill cheese sandwiches or bacon.

New Oven

We purchased this oven because of the features that it has and will fit where our old oven was. We had the old oven for 37 years and this is as close as we could find to what we needed.

Just what we wanted

This is our first gas range and it does not disappoint. Heating up skillets and pans is a good 4-5 minutes faster than our old glass cooktop. The oven and bakers drawer heat up fast and the convection bakes cookies evenly. The oven will be put to a lot of use over the holidays.

Good oven

The first oven had a gas leak but GE and store I purchased from worked together to replace the defective oven and the second one is good. I like the burners and baking drawer.
