Top of the line Gas Range

We purchased this range 3 weeks ago and I am completely thrilled with it. I love the five burner stove top and the oven it the best that we have ever owned. It has such an even and steady temperature and I love that even with the convection I can fit our large pizza tray into this oven. The baking drawer on the bottom is really going to come in handy this holiday season. Great Product.

I purchased this range a month ago and am glad I chose to upgrade to the Cafe Series. I am especially pleased with the baking drawer.

Great appliance!..... cheap leveling feet

The reason I gave 3 stars on the quality rating is the leveling feet are made of cheap plastic threaded in to sheet metal. If you extend them to high to level the range they have a tendency to fall out when sliding the range into position. Considering the price of the unit you would think you would get better leveling feet (welded nut with metal feet) that would last the life of the appliance.
Have had it only a few days but so far everything is working great. Will post additional information on the product later as we use all the features.

30" Stoves are not all the same size.

Purchased stove this week, but it does not fit my 30" opening. We were told that all 30" stoves are the same width and will fit any 30" opening. This is not true. We have purchased all appliances from same dealer for many years, so we put our trust there. Previous stove is 29 7/8" wide.
There are too many imperfections for this 30" unit to fit easily into a 30" opening.
Returning is not an option, since the dealer has policies about returns, even though this unit is still packaged and they claim to sell tons of these. Modifying the opening is expensive and very dirty. We just cleaned up after a kitchen upgrade. Have no reason to think that performance would be anything less than stellar. Will be listing this stove for sale and will purchase a unit that is 29 7/8" wide. Check these specs carefully when shopping for your new stove.

BUYERS BEWARE ! ITS NOT A "SLIDE IN" RANGE ....

The oven Quality is great, ill say that ...However , I bought this oven thinking it was a actually a slide-in as its labeled..It is not ! IT DOES DOT HAVE THE SIDE FLANGES THAT GO OVER YOUR COUNTER TOP EDGES, THAT PREVENT FOOD AND SPILLS FROM GOING DOWN THE SIDES OF THE OVEN... This is a standard feature for all the other "slide ins " in the world...
So, now you have to shop for counter top trim pieces that look and work just right... ..
Also, To GE: the links for the various manuals on this GE website misdirect you. They are not for this cgs985setss model...(I figured this out, after i installed a 120v wall socket, in wall wiring, and circuit breaker. Upon installation, SUPRISE its a 220v oven..)..I had to rewire again for a 220v...Thank you so much.

Very versatile

The range definitely lives up to my high expectations. I love the variety of gas burners, especially the power boil. The convection oven works great and the warmer drawer can actually be used for baking. I haven't used the self cleaning feature yet, but our friends, who have owned the same ranged for a few years, say it's great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

decent range oven

grill in center of range is nice feature. Burners are too high, even on low settings.
