The oven Quality is great, ill say that ...However , I bought this oven thinking it was a actually a slide-in as its labeled..It is not ! IT DOES DOT HAVE THE SIDE FLANGES THAT GO OVER YOUR COUNTER TOP EDGES, THAT PREVENT FOOD AND SPILLS FROM GOING DOWN THE SIDES OF THE OVEN... This is a standard feature for all the other "slide ins " in the world... So, now you have to shop for counter top trim pieces that look and work just right... .. Also, To GE: the links for the various manuals on this GE website misdirect you. They are not for this cgs985setss model...(I figured this out, after i installed a 120v wall socket, in wall wiring, and circuit breaker. Upon installation, SUPRISE its a 220v oven..)..I had to rewire again for a 220v...Thank you so much.
I love this stove. It has powerful burners for large pots and a built in grill feature. The best feature is the smaller second oven which makes things so much easier when cooking items at different temperatures!
So far we have been disappointed with the baking aspect in the oven. The convection bake mode does not convert when a traditional oven degree temperature is entered. We have tried this option many times and have been unable to use the convection feature. Our bagged Thanksgiving turkey took over six hours (rather than 3 1/2) to cook at a traditional 350 degrees. This was unacceptable since we had company. We have purchased and tested an oven thermometer, and find that the oven takes much longer to preheat than indicated on the stove display. At the display point the 350 degree oven is actually 260 degrees, a 400 degree oven is actually 325 degrees etc !!
I love this oven, but we have had a lot of service issues in the one year we have had it...replaced the control panel twice, fan once, burner once...now have to call again to get another control panel...it's great if I don't broil or try to clean it!!
