Upgrade from TV speakers

3 1/2 stars. I have used the HT-SB600 for a few months now and will continue to - it is a great improvement over the standard TV audio and creates a good experience watching shows. It works well with the one HDMI cable to the TV and connecting all my devices that I am able to easily switch to and from using the remote. It's not perfect though. The fan on the head unit is quite noisy. I have to turn up the volume at times just to hear over it. Also for me, there is a lag in dialog vs. the actors mouth. Not by much, but still noticeable and happens with cable tv, streaming videos, and video games. I can't say I would buy it knowing what I know now, but do not have plans to replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
