Really disappointed

Doesn't heat properly. Takes more than 35 min. to boil a half-gallon of water.Extremely inefficient. Grates are so high off flame that most of the heat goes out and up the sides of the pot. Pot handles become extremely hot. Doesn't simmer properly.

Hate it!! Takes too long to cook!

We put this one in our new lake house and we hate it! Takes forever to boil water and doesn't do a low simmer well at all! Grates are too far from the flame! If you cook a lot like I do bypass this model!!

HORRIBLE SCIENCE

Tip of the inner blue flame is the hottest point of the fire never does it even come close to the cook ware leading to massive heat loss and gas waste. The cook top scratches so easily it's unfair, don't bring anything metal near it including pots!?? light up knobs are cool until all they light up are the stains you cant get off from fear of scratching the thing. Cleaning the other part where the burners are is fairly simple and easy. Disassembles and re assembles very easily. The locking feature is nice but unnecessary, watch your kids! I'd say remove the dumb knob and lower the price.

This is the 3rd knob that I will be replacing on this cooktop.I have only been in this house for 2 years. You need to make a durable knob going forward.

Terrible Design

It takes forever to cook on this burner. The burner grill is so high that it takes more than double time to heat up the utensil.Cleaning is another big issue. With the huge holes between the burner and plate, a lot of food goes down and it can't be cleaned unless you actually unscrew the whole top plate.

Good Choice for Our Kitchen Remodel Project

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We wanted to go to a 36" gas cooktop as a replacement for our old 30" with the added convenience of a 5th high BTU burner and this has been a good choice. Easy to operate and clean. Burner temperture adjustments are presice, knobs are conviently placed and include a lockout feature. Compliments our kitchen remodel with all GE Profile appliances.
I would recommend this to a friend!

not good enough

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have this cooktop with our new constructed house, the builder installed it. It looks good but the burner's caps are too big to let the flame kissing the bottoms of the pans, it take too long to cook.

Useless side burners....sooo dissapointed!!

This cooktop was supossed to be an upgrade in our new home and is useless.... It takes forever to cook anything on the side burners. The only one that works is the middle one. The grates are to high for the four side burners. Someone at GE should try to cook an egg in a regular T-Fal pan and will see that it takes forever to heat and cook on a regular pan. The pan never gets hot enough. It only wastes gas and time. I cannot believe the failure in the design. What is the point of having a 5 burner cooktop and only use the middle one? Maybe They put the high grates to accomodate the big burner and forgot about the other four. I already called my builder and will ask for a replacement if they cannot fix the problem. So dissapointed the cooktop looks great but is useless unless they replace the grates or adjust the intensity of the flames. I wrote to GE I hope they can help me. Many reviews complain about the same thing.
