Nice Hardware, Terrible APP which makes the device useless.

This Philips alarm clock/speaker dock requires the Philips Fidelio app to do anything other than set the time. (You cannot set an alarm with out the app installed on your iphone/ipad).
The app must continue to run in the background for the alarm to work, however the app constantly crashes! It crashes when you have an alarm set, it crashes when your listening to music from your iphone music library, radio station or pandora.
If Philips fixes the poorly designed app the Alarm clock/Speaker dock will be a great device. It has amazing sound and styling. However, until then it is a large mostly unusable digital clock.
Avoid this and any Philips device that requires the app.
Pros: great industrial design
Cons: fidelio app constantly crashes!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent sound

Great sound and really compact, beautiful night light, just wish it had a remote. This will be my second one, now I am buying this one for my daughter. I love the fact that you can play the IPAD and charge the IPHONE at the same time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We bought both of my daughters one of these for Christmas to use with their 4th gen iPods. They worked great until Phillips decided to update the app. The problem is, their app supports all of the docking stations, even though for devices that do not have iOS7 capability.
They updated the app for iOS 7 compatibility recently, and as a result, removed features that were considered redundant in iOS7 but thereby breaking the app for older devices. Why on earth would they break this for so many customers?
Pros: great sound
Cons: ios 7 only after update, no longer works with ipod 4
