This is a fantastic Camera. I had no trouble straight out of the box. The results of my first three Videos was far greater than I expected I highly recommend this Camera to everyone.

Great video, poor Wifi

I brought this camera to record high quality audio and video by using this camcorder with an external mixer for music auditions. This camera manual audio lets you set for a line level input.
I then can quickly title and trim with my AVS Video Editor to hand off to the client
The Wifi is poorly implemented only really works directly to an IPad (but with reduced video and delay)

Great quality pictures! It was a little difficult to figure out how to download the pictures to the computer.

I am a professional photographer and also do movie productions as a hobby. I cannot speak highly enough about the Canon Vixia HF R52 camcorder. You have to read the 200 page owners manual to appreciate all this camcorder can do. The optics are incredibly clear and concise. Close ups so close and clear that you can almost touch the lens on it and it will be in focus. The image stabilization is also incredible and whether you want the ease of putting the camcorder on Auto or going manual and creating your own this camcorder does it all. the camcorder is Wifi and can also be controlled with your smartphone or ipad home or away from home.
This camcorder is well worth the amount invested and it is small, sleek, and compact yet its memory can hold a ton of high definition video. So happy I purchased this camcorder. You can't beat the Canon optics.
From a professional standpoint this camcorder really is a State of the Art camcorder. Love the touch screen and the huge 3" screen.
I have nothing con to say about this camcorder at all. It is 100% Pro.
This camcorder is well worth the amount invested and it is small, sleek, and compact yet its memory can hold a ton of high definition video. So happy I purchased this camcorder. You can't beat the Canon optics.

Like the title says "as advertised". Camera performs as advertised...good quality videos for the price. You will need a back-up battery if you are using the camera for more than 90 minutes and the cost of a spare battery isn't cheap.

Downloading Difficult

Decent camera overall, but owner's manual is poorly organized and hard to understand, particularly related to the downloading of video from the Hard Drive to recording DVDs or onto a computer. 3rd party software is counter-intuitive in operation and doesn't follow standard, easy to use features like the camcorder does. Very disappointed in unnecessary complexity and overall clumsiness of recording process and software. Will not be using camera for important events as a result, and will rely on existing cam for key events.

Nice cam. Nice features. Would of been a 5 star however the wifi remote function is useless on the Galaxy s5. The app does not support it and from other reviews I've been reading it doesn't support quite a few other android devices. What a waste of the wifi function.
Pros: Compact Design, excellent image quality, Ergonomic/comfortable to hold, easy to use
Cons: wifi remote app failure
