This is great because of the removable plates. I have used the original sandwich maker. On this one the sandwich plates come closer together so it effectively creates a good seam between the sandwich that allowed it to break apart. This one requires cutting through that dream of harder bread. Overall it's worth the inexpensive price. The cord could have been longer but it's long enough of you have plugs at countertop level.
It could have been improved by adding a timer and making the sandwich plates create a better seam so you don't need
