Problem with the Extenda Vent

Love the sleek look and LG's innovation. I like the idea that the Extenda Vent covers the front burners and offer better ventilation. However, after 5 weeks use, the front of the vent that extends out (steel part) started to warp. It's quite disappointing!
I had to call LG to schedule an in-home service appointment this week. So, hopefully things will work out.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings

Classy and quality with good service

My wife and I looked long and hard for a good looking stainless steel microwave to match our new kitchen. I also wanted a technically well made unit (I am an engineer) and was pretty fussy about a brand and model.
We also wanted an over-the-range unit which would actually extract and the extendible extractor on this unit did not disappoint.
We initially had a small problem with the unit (interior light) and the help I received from LG went way beyond what one might expect from a manufacturer.
I'd recommend this unit (and brand) to anyone who asked me.

Dead after 3 Years and 2 Months

Purchased the LMHM2017 in Nov. 2011 and absolutely loved this microwave. Used 90% of the cook settings. Popcorn setting was on the money. The Extend-A-Vent was very useful when foods were burned on the underlying gas range to quickly dissipate smoke. However, the microwave did not last for a reasonable amount of time. It died in January 2015 so I'm out hunting a replacement. If LG had not reduced the height and location of the viewing window, I would consider another LG to match my 2011 LG appliances. LG....you lose on this one! Will purchase another brand where I can see what's over-cooking. What on earth were you thinking? Listen to the women who use these appliances.....please.

I purchased this microwave and after a year of use, I can tell you the vented hood part of it is terrible. The door does not close correctly all the time which causes you to open and close repeatly just to operate the oven.We bought this to match up with our LG gas stove which is great! We own several LG products but, this is one we wish we never bought.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Replacement of a defective LG product

I purchased this LG microwave to replace another LG microwave that lasted a few months. My guaranty was bought back and I did not have the courage to change the brackets. This one is already giving signs of issues. Overall, not very pleased with the brand as we have equipped our entire new house with LG appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is one microwave oven you can't pass up!

We've been using this microwave for about a month now and my wife loves it. The operation of the oven continues to impress me. Everything about it works great, and it accents our LG refrigerator. I would recommend this microwave oven to anyone. Because I installed this myself, I couldn't give the overall rating an excellent. The reason preventing this score from being excellent, was the lack of instructions for the installer. I'm mechanically inclined and can do just about anything, but had to improvise in order to successfully install this oven. Now I know this doesn't have anything to do with the ovens looks, or operation but the procedure writers are part of the LG team. I installed this to save money. If you are using someone else to do the installation, then buy this oven. You won't be sorry.

We purchased this microwave due to the cooking power and the extended vent feature. We enjoy the sensor functions along with the warming light which is an especially nice feature.

Outstanding Microwave Oven

I replaced another brand microwave oven with this LG model. I have to say, hands down this is the best oven that I have owned. I really like the placement of the oven controls, along the bottom front of the door. This makes for easier access without stretching over my stove. I really like the fact that the exhaust vent can be pulled out to accommodate the stoves front burners. What impressed me the most about this oven is how quiet it operates. The only negative that I can find is that the shelve is NOT adjustable. In order to accommodate taller bowls, you have to remove the shelve and then reinstall when your done.
