I was dismayed to learn that I am unable to change the dock apps. For example, I could not remove the messenger icon if I installed a preferred SMS program. I think the fact that I actually have a smart phone that I can use my phone charms on is wonderful and makes up for it. I took a trip to
hina and brought back charms that I used on the Moto Razr that I had. They mean a lot to me and I wanted to thank you for including that in the design, even if it does seem trivial!
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you need to use this for heavy e mail applications and you need it to sync up with the e mail on your computer, buy something else. If you are only buying for junk like FB, its probably fine
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Being the only 4G and Physical QWERTY keyboard phone with the Stratosphere's captive carrier, this seemed to be the only, best choice. I'd like to make the overall rating 4 stars; call me a tough reviewer, but have been disappointed in a number of ways.
The pre-loaded apps on this phone constantly load up in memory chewing up battery life, impair performance and detract from the user experience. Short of rooting the phone (which voids the warranty), these apps can not be un-installed. While the design and features make this a very promising phone, as implemented it falls short in performance.
Its a shame it isn't offered with an extended battery and larger microSD™ card up front. It doesn't have cutting edge features like a dual core processor or 2 Gb ram, but its a capable Android™ phone and can run Firefox.
Have suddenly had problems with mobile data and phone connections, so the final verdict remains pending ...
Pros: physical qwerty keyboard
Cons: excessive pre-loaded/uninstallable bloatware

Best phone I've ever purchased. I love the different features, sleek style, and the fact this has BOTH a touch screen QWERTY, AND a slide out QWERTY. Camera takes great pictures and has program to edit pictures. Speakerphone works great when playing music, and I can still work on other programs while listening to my tunes. I absolutely love this phone.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable

So you know that sentence your phone salesman says after you buy your phone? "You have 31 days to exchange this for a different model." This phone will be awesome right up until that day!!!! If you don't like downloading all your fav apps and having lots of music this is the phone for you! lots of apps, contacts and music leads to horrible lag!! I had to delete all apps except those that came with the phone and a few personal ones in order to get rid of the lag. If you're into sitting at home next to your plug all day so your phone won't die before the day is over then you'll enjoy many a day next to a plug!! The screen is way too bright even at the lowest level therefore eating up battery that even the juice defender app can't make up for! Oh and my favorite part! If you only want to keep a phone for 6 months before having to take advantage of the warranty then congrats you have found the perfect phone!! The charging port is easily damaged and therefore will begin having difficulty with ANY charger you use after a while. You'll get to the point where you'll have to invent different ways to position your phone in order to get a 14% charge after leaving it overnight. Another interesting thing is I'm not the only one with these problems. When I went to get it fixed someone was in there with the same exact issues for this phone. The features are awesome although the music player leaves much to be desired. Quick office for free!! I think yes!!! But what is the point of having awesome features if your phone doesn't work well enough to use them? 4G!! Cool right?? Well, with this phone I've actually wished I didn't have 4G because then the battery drains even faster. It is durable (you can actually feel that there is some sort of shock system in the phone by holding it in one hand and lightly patting it with the other). So for you phone droppers out there, all other issues aside, you actually have a winner here. Verizon does do well about the warranty. I'll give 'em that. They sent me a new device when I told them about the broken charging port but as for the device please save yourselves the trouble and spend maybe $20 more for an awesome phone. The low price for a 4G sounds cool but really is not worth it. Plus it's too big and once you discover and accustom yourself to the magic of Swype texting you won't ever use the Qwerty keyboard again.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, swype texting, quick office for free!, android
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations, horrible battery life, screen devours battery even at minimum level, charging port breaks after months of use, music player not very user friendly
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overheats, No LED and wont Connect
on July 26, 2012

I have owned this phone for almost a year, and while the 4g is outstanding, it should be noted that my mobile connectivity often disconnects without warning, making it impossible to connect to anything other than Wifi. The phone also becomes so hot that it will shut down on its own and reboot. I assume this is a fail-safe procedure built into the phone to protect its vital components. When I say that the phone overheats, it is literally too hot to hold in my hands. I have to set it down. I have found that even with its vast storage capacity, I am unable to truly take advantage of it's potential due to these issues. The more apps downloaded onto the phone the less it wants to work and the more over-heating issues I find. I've spoken to other Stratosphere owners who have this problem as well. Plus this is the first and only phone that I've owned that lacks an LED light, even though the phone has many options signifying an ability to adjust it. I have not rooted this phone and therefore should not be seeing such detrimental and fundamental flaws of this magnitude. I feel it is only fair to admit that I have not had a horrible experience with Samsung in the past, but I will certainly consider these issues when purchasing products from them in the future.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, no led, overheats, loses mobile service, reboots randomly, poor battery life
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
