This is my first smart phone I admit being overwhelmed by the possibilities. Its faster than any other smart phone I have seen, a clearer screen than others I have played with and certainly a giant leap forward. One of my criteria was a slider keyboard, which this has - and a nice size too, with touch screen if you want that. Super clear screen for my poor eye sight too. So many apps, and some fun stuff too. Price was not amazingly cheap nor hugely expensive... Thanks for a great product. I look forward to years of service with this.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have loved Samsung products for years - whenever it was time for a new phone I would automatically gravitate towards Samsung. The phones were always well designed and sturdy, and would consistently surpass all expectations. After a short deviation to another manufacturer, I decided to go back to what I KNEW I could trust to be a good phone and bought the Stratosphere. I regretted it within 24 hours.
First off, the phone comes preloaded with a ridiculous number of apps that can not be deleted. I'm not sure if that is the carrier or Samsung but it was a huge immediate turn off. Also - the battery life was an issue from the beginning. God forbid I'm ever out for more then three hours without a charger, because my phone will quickly become no more then a paperweight. The phone would also randomly turn itself off without cause.
The keyboard was glitchy, often not responsive to commands and would occasionally "lock" into a weird mode (either symbols and/or caps) that i could not get out of without restarting the phone.
It had poor ability to maintain a connection regardless of whether it was supposed to be connected to 4G, 3G, or wifi. It would just, without warning, stop getting a signal and it would take almost two minutes to get a signal back in some cases even though I may be in my house sitting next to my router.
Yet another problem I had along these lines were that apps would just stop working, saying "Connection Lost" or "Trouble Loading" even though my browser would work fine and the signal strength indicator at the top said everything was in order. Nothing short of restarting the phone would fix this.
Another design flaw with the phone is that if the battery is below a certain level, the camera is deactivated. I could understand disabling the flash, but considering that the battery is almost always dying - taking photos should still be an option, but I still have not found a way around this even after months of looking.
When the phone worked it was a joy. The screen was lovely so watching TV shows and/or movies was nice and the sound quality was good, however these times were far and few between.
The final nail in this phones coffin happened when it fell off my couch onto the floor, and broke my screen. The phone seems like its working (my alarm went off the next morning) but the screen is black and clearly unresponsive to touch. The phone is insured and I can get a new one if I pay the deductible ($100), but I'm honestly not sure if its worth paying even that amount to get this piece of junk back into my life. I feel like hunting down an old phone and using that.
I really am disappointed. I had nothing but good things to say about Samsung products up until this point. However, the consistent problems with this phone have pushed me to the point where, once I can renew my contract and get a new phone, I will never buy another Samsung. It clearly isn't worth the money anymore.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I wanted a phone on the new 4g LTE network with verizon and decided on the Stratosphere from all that it offered for the price. i was pleasantly surprised. Coming from the HTC incredible, this screen is simply amazing and i love how thin and solid it is for having a slide out keyboard. i have loaded it with apps and have had very little lag, but only after several large apps running at once. call sound is very good yet the speaker phone is ok. the battery life is decent, it does get thru the day and with 4g turned off, almost two days with very little use. very easy syncing with both of my bluetooth headsets. video playback is stunning and the camera takes crystal clear pictures. i have not encountered any problems with the phone.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, only 4g with keyboard
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am technologically challenged so after I saw my daughter's phone I had to have one. Script is large enough to actually see. Buttons are large enough to actually use without pushing adjacent buttons. The camera is fantastic. The only thing is I wish the battery lasted longer. This is a great product!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, user friendly, great features, excellent quality
Cons: battery needs to last l8nger
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is my first "Smart Phone". I upgraded from a basic phone with a flip open keyboard.
The display is beautiful, clear, & with bright colors. The touch screen takes only a light touch. I bought this one partly because the reviews spoke of high quality pictures, and I agree 100%. The pictures are bright, great color, and very sharp.
The sound quality is good, and I like the separate keys on the slide out. This gives a larger viewing screen when entering e-mails. I just wish the keys were taller, as I have fat thumbs. Keys are wide enough, but not tall enough. This is the only reason I didn't give a 5 for design.
I really liked my last phone, but I like this one even better. Kudos to Samsung for a great phone that isn't too large to carry in a pocket.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, great pictures, easy to use
Cons: small keys on slide out.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I only just started using the stratisfere, but so far it's very easy to navigate, adjust settings and seems to do many tasks in the upright or turned on its side using the touch buttons instead of the screen to make any calls, texts or so on. I really look forward to getting to know and understand all the functions its capable of. I plan on using it in my business along with the dragon software. id recommend it anyone who wants a quality product at a good price .
Awsome phone only a couple things to make it better

This is a fabulous phone, The slide out keyboard combined with Swype typing is fabulous. Easy to read emails, text. Phone calls are clear. I would love to use this as desk clock - beautiful Desk Cradle feature but is limited by the 10 minute screen time out feature, even if it is plugged in.
