stay away from this phone.i am a big samsung fan so i wanted a SMARTPHONE with a slide keyboard thought this would be a good phone for me.Lots of time will not log to internet even with 3 or 4 bars of service will start roaming for no reason battery life is maybe 12 to 14 hours if you dont use it and this is the second phone i have had. very unhappy with this product may think about iphone at next upgrade.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

At the time I got this phone I was worried about switching from actual buttons to a touch screen, although its no Iphone it has won me over to touch screens, but it still has an actual keyboard that does come in quite handy for apps or sites that arent made for mobile.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, its not an iphone
Cons: eats thru batteries rapidly, auto rotation doesnt work on some sites, the front camera isnt hi def, takes a long time to reload after taking picture
I would recommend this to a friend!

Excellent Dependable Smartphone

I bought this for my daughter for her birthday and it has worked flawlessly. She has been very happy with its dependability, functionality, and strength. Well made with a long lasting battery life, it has been put thru many tests and passed with flying colors. She isn't the most gentle person with phones. I know when we upgrade, we will definitely be getting another Samsung.
When I decided on this phone in late 2011, it was pretty new and there weren't a lot of reviews out there. I knew the processor wasn't the newest, but I don't generally run a whole lot of apps (compared to most people I know!), so I wasn't too worried about that. I mostly wanted a decent camera and a keyboard, and adding 4G into the mix made it sound perfect.
Found out about the 4G/3G issue right away - the way the phone loses all data connection, sometimes for minutes, sometimes until you reboot - when it loses 4G. Sometimes keeping it on 3G mostly solves the issue - but kind of negates having a 4G phone, y'know?
I learned over the course of a year to mostly live with and work around that issue, although sometimes it still takes me by surprise when I'm trying to make a "which train do I take" decision and I have no data connection. But then a week ago I got hit with another common issue - the phone suddenly doesn't like to charge. The charging goes on and off, no matter which charger I'm using. Verizon store confirmed it wasn't the charger, since it did the same thing with theirs. Recommended a repair shop and said it was the dataport. Repair shop said there was nothing at all the matter with the dataport. So I now spend hours every day trying to make sure the phone is actually charging.
I'm stuck with this phone another 9 months, but I suspect I'll pick up something cheap & used on ebay even without a keyboard. And when this contract is up, I plan to NOT stay with either Verizon OR Samsung after this experience.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, keyboard
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

great phone especially for those who need the qwerty keyboard. it's sturdy in my hand, at times a bit heavy but a great overall android phone. i think i will go buy S III next time though.
Pros: Inexpensive

The phone worked for the first month but after that it just stopped working, would not hold battery charge and the whole phone would crash and had to be restored several times.
