This is my third Holmes Air Purifier. When my last one died after many years of use, I never even considered purchasing a brand other than Holmes. I find their products well made, dependable and fairly priced! Highly recommend this purifier.

I bought a new Holmes tower air filter to replace a 24 yr old Holmes hepa filter which I could no longer find replacement filters for.
Received it one week before our oil furnace blew out (quite literally), spewing soot everywhere while we were all asleep one night.
Fortunately for us, there was no carbon monoxide involved, but it did turn my snow-white long haired kitty a rather dingy shade of dirty! I have birds in dining room, so that was the first room I put the hepa filter to work on.... after that the living room, kitchen and three bedrooms.
Am very, very happy with this new air filter, it did a great job of clearing out all the rooms, even though two of them are much larger than what this particular unit is rated for.
Additionally, it takes up a mere 1/4 the space as the old model did and is much lighter in weight, as well.
If you’re looking for a good air filter, you probably won’t go wrong with this one; I believe it to have fully earned my Five Star rating!

Works but SO loud

I received this unit as a replacement when my previous unit stopped working and that model was no longer in stock (side note - Holmes customer service was great and the replacement was quick & painless). It seems to be working as efficiently as the previous unit but is SO much louder. The previous model (HAP9425) sounded like a gently hum, but this one sounds like a jet engine, even on the lowest level. I tried replacing the filters and tried two different “levels” of filters and the loud volume continues.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

After running air purifier for just 20 minutes the air in the room smells so much fresher. But my favorite thing about this air purifier is how much it weighs. It is tall and looks like it would be heavy but it is so light weight that I can carry it with one hand. This is nice because its no problem carrying it up a flight of stairs when I want to use it on the 2nd floor. Love it
