Great for healthy eating!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am trying to eat healthier and this rice cooker and vegetable steamer is a great easy way to do that! I have always cooked my rice on the stove in the past and my veggies in the microwave and this steamer makes the process significantly easier! Everything you would need to cook both rice and vegetables is included and you can do both at the same time! A grilled chicken breast, steamed rice and some steamed carrots mixed with broccoli is my new favorite meal and this rice cooker is a great addition to my kitchen appliances! I'd recommend this rice cooker to anyone! I received a sample of this product in change for a honest and unbiased review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a big fan of rice, but I am a terrible cooker of rice. This rice cooker did exactly what I hoped it would: cook my rice well. I liked the simplicity of the cooker, and without a lot of bells and whistles, I expect it to hold up to repeated use for a while. The cooker doesn't take up a lot of space on my counter, so I can leave it out and use it any time I want. I took a star off because when it is plugged in it is always on (either warming or cooking). I'd prefer it if I could turn it off while it is plugged in

Perfect for Small Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I recieved the 6 cup Oster rice cooker and steamer, I was surprised at how small it was. The instructions were easy to find and easy to read. You must use the measuring cup provided for optimal results. The first time I used it the rice came out perfect. My husband said it was the fluffiest rice ever. Cooking rice in a pot on the stove was never successful for me so I hardly made it but now I am able to give my family a consistent healthy meal. My daughter is 1 and this rice cooker makes rice consistent enough that she can grab chunks of it at a time and not make too much of a mess. My 10 year old and husband had seconds and there was still some left over. I also like the fact that the cover is glass and I can see the rice leftover and not forget about it. I noticed that when I use the larger rice cookers at friends houses...they have black or metal covers and it makes so much rice left over you forget about and when you go to use it again...pppphhheeeww! With this rice cooker I could make just enough for my family of 4. Now with the steamer....I tried packing as much vegetables as possible unfortunately this feature is good for steaming veggies gor 1-2 people...but it usually ends up going to one person because the veggies come out so good. So far I have steamed carrots and brussel sprouts. It makes more sense to use one oster cup of rice with veggies if you are making tomorrows lunch for work or something like that. Overall I am very pleased with the outcome and my family is happy. ***I recieved this 6 cup rice cooker and steamer in the mail for the purposes of reviewing it***and I would purchase or recommend this for anyone given that they read the instructions and USE the cup provided.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When my father passed I found this on his kitchen counter, and brought it home. I have loved Oster since I bought the giant mixer with tons of attachments back in the 80's. I gave it to my brother when my family got smaller as they grew up and out of the house. He passed it on as well and it still works. This rice cooker is great. It not only makes rice but SO much more. I have my home alone supper. I dice a chicken breast toss in a can of stewed tomatoes, some frozen peas, fresh diced carrot, chicken broth and rice. (sometimes I dry fry the rice first) and turn it on. It all cooks up by the time the rice timer goes off, even the chicken. I stir in some three cheese blend and I have food for the entire weekend. love love love this. My father passed many years ago and I use this at least once a week. Oster hasn't let me down. Sears used to be a quality product but not anymore. Oster still stands behind what it sells and gives quality merchandise to it's customers.

Wonderful Rice Cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful Rice Cooker - I had the privilege to try this rice cooker and absolutely loved it. It's very easy to use. You just use the measuring cup that comes with it to measure out your rice and then fill with water to the water line in the pot based on how many cups you are making. Give it a stir, out the lid on and press down the cook button and that's it. It was ready in no time and cooked perfectly. No burned rice. My family looks forward to our rice dinners since we've had this product. I received this rice cooker as a sample to try it out and love it!

Rice burns On the bottom every time

I bought this rice cooker about 2 months ago and really feel like it’s a total waste of money. The rice develops a dark crust on the bottom every time I use it. Total waste of money.

Broke after 2nd use

I am very unsatisfied with this product. I used it to cook rice twice & it no longer works. I thought it was my outlet that didn't have power, but it turns out the device decided to quit working on the 3rd use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
