It is a flip phone that works sometimes

The software on this phone is not anywhere near the best, and many tasks are not intuitive. Sometimes I make a call and it connects to the other person, but I hear nothing, so I have to redial. It would be nice if the back light would come on at night with just a little movement like my older phones, instead you have to push a button to get the back light on, and then the function of whatever button you pressed will execute.
On the plus side, I have had great battery life, and clear calls. I wanted a small phone and this certainly fits that bill quite well. Just hope it makes it to my next eligible date for an upgrade.

Good for the price

I purchased the LG A380 a week ago. I was looking for an inexpensive, basic phone. I use it for talk, texting, and as a notepad. I was happy this phone had the T9 format for texting, however it is time consuming to use. Instead of a key to rotate between alternate word choices, it displays a drop down menu. My fingers need to move from the key pad to the arrow keys, select the proper word, then press the “ok” button and back to keying text. I am finding it easier to use the “abc” format. The notepad does not retain the last format used. It always reverts back to the abc format. I do like the ability to configure my own shortcut keys in two different locations. One is a menu from the main screen. The “arrow” keys can also be designated for my specific use. I like a quiet phone. I don’t like noise when it powers up or down. “Settings” does not offer an option to turn this off.

No Recourse For Me

This phone has a terrible speaker. It is very difficult to hear the caller and for them to hear me. I am disappointed in this purchase.

Best phone ever

I bought this phone after having an issue with my last phone and it appears that lg has started making better phones due to all the competition and it reflects on this phone because it is the first phone that I was able to hear someone on without turning up the volume to the highest level during a call the text to speech also a very good addition so I can listen to my text messages
I would recommend this to a friend!

What a piece of junk! For all the great products LG makes, they've really botched this one. There are basic flip phones available that are so much better and user friendly.

shuts itself down

One day after purchase, phone would randomly shut itself down when text messages were opened and some other phone features were accessed. Also, sound quality was poor for outgoing and ingoing calls. Sounded scratchy.

I should have listened to the reviews before I purchased! The sound quality is the worst. In order to hear caller, I have to press the speaker button when answering or I cant hear them. That it even in my quiet house with no other noise. Everything is muffled. The camera is at an angle where you have to hold it in an unusual angle and quality is so bad, you might just save the trouble and not take a picture.

I bought this p hone for my husband, and it is nice, but the battery does not last very long on stand by. I would expect it to last a whole lot longer than it does for sure. Very disappointed in the battery life. Without using the phone, the battery goes dad after 3 days without any usage at all!!
