Fast, light - very light - great screen, instant start, illuminated keyboard, looks good. What's not to like! The perfect laptop for the frequent traveller who doesn't want to have their arm pulled out of their sockets!!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Great design, so so performance !!

Overall like the system but does have some shortcomings. Performance is great unless you start playing any type of games on it. I do a few Facebook games and they are very jerky and unpredictable. Another shortcoming is the touchpad...falls way short of my MacPro...very quirky and unresponsive a lot.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight, great design
Cons: unresponsive touchpad, poor video performance
I would recommend this to a friend!

Series 9 - Great Laptop, Horrible WLAN
on June 24, 2011

Great quality built, lightweight laptop. Could use a trackpoint to go with the more difficult to use touchpad. However, the worst part about this laptop is the horrendous Broadcom WLAN adapter. It has horrible range, poor throughput and generally is just complete garbage. It should be recalled and replaced with an Intel WLAN adapter. Evidence Samsung realizes this is the recent posting of drivers for an Intel WLAN adapter. Looks like they are making the change. What about existing users?
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: broadcom wlan adapter
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed
on September 11, 2011

Being the thinnest computer since the 1997 Mitsubishi Pedion / HP Sojourn we were very excited to see this computer. We got these in directly after they were released. At first we were thrilled; the construction is great and huge praise goes to the engineers. This has one of the best screens of any laptop and many other innovative characteristics. The disappointment came after using the system for few hours. The great work of the engineers and designers is undermined by poor integration. There is almost no software support. Samsung has not provided drivers for many of the great features. The touchpad, for example, took quite a while to get working correctly. We followed it through and only after about 3 days did we have a stable distribution that incorporated most of the features. Most of the drivers we had to get direct from the component manufacturers or even third parties. Some we had to compile ourselves from source. Overall there was so much work in getting a stable deploy going that we decided against recommending these.
In Summary the computer is great tech device and it's a great example of a lot of hard engineering and design work. Unfortunately, unless you plan to only use the stock Samsung demo software deploy (which means you're not using a lot of the great features of this computer) you're in for a lot of work to get a stable configuration running.
Also there's a huge Microsoft logo etched into the metal of the computer that is not removable. So all the great work with the design gets covered up by this Microsoft etching; you get to be a walking advertisement with this computer.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor software support, little to no drivers provided
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful machine, ultra thin and super light but not light on processing power. It's nice to see attention to detail and design on a windows machine. My only gripe is that it is a fingerprint magnet...
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

I was really excited upon receiving the laptop but it quickly turned to disappointment when I found that that the 'Ctrl' and 'A' key would stay depress when used. After some fiddling, I found that there were burrs on one edge of the keys and it would catch the side. I had to remove the keys and scrape it off to get the keys to work properly. I don't expect this poor of a workmanship on a $1500 laptop.

Cons: Poor quality
