Love: Looks, weight, sleekness, the charger!, battery life Hate: hypersensitive mouse pad, useless projection cable, hopefully mini-ports that makes you lug cables everywhere, audio speakers, jumping cursors, no DVD drives, poor WiFi reception
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Not high def, Did not meet expectations
I would recommend this to a friend!

working out the bugs... the love - hate relationship

At 8 days ownership, it has been a love/hate relationship. Bought it for portability as I work on the road frequently, not for Youtube, videos, etc. Had a few software issues - some locking up, quirkiness in the first few days. Key complaint: overly sensitive touchpad and random actions due to the "gestures" drove me to want to throw it off the roof and all MY attempts to adjust settings just made it worse. This is when WHO I bought it from made all the difference. Went back to store and their techies worked with me and the machine (about 45 minutes) - reinstalled the drivers and adjusted the settings for MY needs. Helped identify and solve the software issues except for Adobe pkg. But says they'll fix when I have time to get in (saving ME the frustration). Wish the drive were larger, so now I have to actually delete files instead of keeping ALL the drafts of everything...Probably a good thing. Love it now. GREAT display allowing me to work outside when the weather cooperates. Battery life stinks - only about 4 hours. I'd love another 2 hours battery life. If you need portability - it may be a GREAT, though pricey option.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: low battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love the look and general performance, there are some drawbacks
on August 4, 2011

The laptop is very sexy and performs very well (I maxed out the RAM)
The issues with docking, the HDMI cable to present and the sensitive power connection are drawbacks.
I love the power cord size, but be careful. As it was the only powercord, and there is no docking station, I had it plugged in and someone swipped the cord and the female insert has become loose requiring a trip to the repair shop.
I love this laptop in many ways - it is so light, so thin, so fast and yet some very basic things drive me crazy and keep me from ranking it high. The powersupply has a very loose fitting - it drops out with the slightest nudge. The screen flicks between bright and not so bright for no apparent reason. The touchpad is so frustraing to use it should have been omitted - just touch it and it thinks you right mouse clicked. Then try to undo the right mouse click - takes three or 4 attempts. The laptop freezes daily once or twice - again no real reason - it just stops usually when running IE. In the end I wish I had bought an Airbook - cheaper and better, just as fast, just as light.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, fast startup
Cons: Poor quality, freezes regularly, touchpad has a mind of its own, power supply falls out - it just falls out!, screen flicks brightness up and down for no reason
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice ultrabook but low screen resolution

I loved this ultrabook when I saw it and it is fast and works well for casual internet usage that you cannot do on a current tablet such as a Galaxy Tab 10.1.
The style is neat and the ports appear out of the sides in a nice touch. The only problem is a major one: the screen resolution is quite low for such a nice machine. I had to return it and buy a different ultrabook that has a 1600x900 screen. 5 stars if Samsung fixes that in their next iteration. Evrything else is nicely done from what I saw while I had it.
So as to Samsung's claim of "no compromise": close but not quite. I could not make the compromise of the low 768 pixel height display even though the rest of the system is better than the competition.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, fast disk, great touchpad and lighted keyboard
Cons: Not high def, low screen resolution (less than 1440 x 900)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great looking but very weak on the inside

Some times being an early adopter bites you and that is sure the case for this product. I was all excited for a light, slim laptop to use for work. Very expensive yes, but I was sure it would be a perfect fit. Then came the realization that there was no good inexpensive solution for the lack of VGA so you can't use it with a projector. Wi-fi is very spot, online experience is slow. Then, the real killer, you can't find a spare power cord at your local electronics store. So you go online at the Samsung Distributor and pay a lot of money for a non-standard power cord. Poor design all around.
I should have waited until they had worked the kinks out before speding huge money. Would NOT recommend this to a friend
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, no good vga option, power cord is not standard, wi-fi is weak
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Excellent Machine

First of all, pay no attention to those who want beefier specs in this machine - if this had it, it would be thicker and heavier, and that's precisely what I don't want. Definitely don't want a DVD drive in this.
Overall, I've had no problems with it so far, except for a small rubber plug that fell out of the screw well when I first took this out of the box. It was a little disconcerting at first, but I just put it back in and it was fine. :)
Other than that, it pretty much met my expectations of being one amazing machine - thin, fantastically light, metal, has really good feel to it. Sometimes I pick it up and hold it in my hands just for the sake of it. :) Performs very fast for what it is.
Things I wish were different (very minor, I'm just picky): - A bunch of software is installed automatically on first boot for about four minutes. This should really be done in the factory, so the initial experience is clean and immediate. - The default Fast Sleep program, while great for quickly waking it up, drained my battery completely overnight when I just closed the lid and walked away. You can change this, but the defaults should be set to something else. - Finally, Samsung, please, please, PLEASE make the label on the back with the OS serial number peel off easily - it ruins the otherwise beautiful back of the machine and is impossible to remove. And I want to. - Ideally, I'd like a non-Intel graphics card, but not if it makes it thicker/heavier. Form factor is the primary reason why I bought it. - Speakers sound a bit muffled - the ones on a competing fruity-themed laptop of similar thickness sound better.
