not fully technically mature

This machine is fast, robust, very lightweight, with a display very useful to work in direct sunlight and a touchpad working like a charm, improving efficient work with long documents or program source code and tons of open windows. This laptop is almost optimal for use as a business laptop, except for:
Using a laptop at work includes frequent presentations and connecting the laptop to a projector. Samsung should ship a well engineered VGA adapter by default! The new intel driver for the WiFi works great - in most cases. With some AccessPoints, however tethering is troublesome and requires disabling the 802.11n mode. Apart from not offering a SD card slot, the MicroSD card slot is an acceptable alternative. However, if you close the connector flap panel, you have to push the MicroSD card deeper into its slot. The power connector to the laptop is long, stiff, and without any strain relief. It will be a mater of weeks until it will be broken! Regarding these shortcomings, I would not consider this product fully technically mature. But I found workarounds for the insufficiencies, except for the poor quality power connector.
Cons: wifi reception, no strain relief power connector, no default vga adaptor
I would recommend this to a friend!

Purchased this ultrabook for its killer looks, but was very dissapointed with the hardware shortcomings:
1. 1 month of usage and my left speaker produces distorted sound. 2. 2 months of usage and mouse click doesnt work anymore. 3. The Harddrive space is so less, that its only realised after you but it, approx 20 gb is occupied by recovery solution, so that you are left with 100 gb , out of which another 20-30 is occupied with windows 7 and system files, so you are left with roughly 70 gb of space.
Dont know what all parts will stop working in coming months.
Pros: Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, low quality speaker, mouse doesn`t work, less hard disk space
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wish it has all the bells and whistles that series 7 laptop has

I love this design and how light it is. I wish it samsung will make a second generation that has the features like series 7 laptop 15.6 inches does-while still keeping this beautiful design of series 9.
The hardware on the laptop is top notch- very solid- however I am very disappointed this expensive laptop functions so poorly- the track pad is erratic even with the latest drivers. The laptop also has a bad habit of locking/freezing and only a power cycle can bring it back to life. Another annoyance is when updating software form the Samsung site many of the loads fail
With more development this will be a great product- it's just not there yet
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Sexy Thang - Within Limits

My Series 9 is a replacement for a 6lb monster laptop. Samsung's stunner is Paris Hilton's Chihuahua versus a 90lb German Shepherd. Same species, different job in life.
Pros: * Stunning design * Sub-3lb svelte figure * Fast Sandy Binge processor * Lightning quick SSD * 4gb RAM standard * Decent battery life * Bright, daylight useable, matte screen * Backlit keyboard * Touchpad is clever once tweaked & the paradigm is absorbed * Nifty power supply design - easy to change mains plugs for international travel * Clever "click to lock" low voltage power supply lead into the laptop proper * Standard 3-year warranty * Minimal bloatware provided
Cons: * Pricey (but it IS Paris Hilton's Chihuahua...) * At this price point, ALL the external dongles (VGA, HDMI, Ethernet) should be included, packaged in a luxurious black velvet drawstring bag * NO security lock slot? Puleeeze - this baby will be on every lowlife's Xmas list and there's no security slot? Donnez moi un break. * Bigger SSD please * SDHC, not MicroSD card slot please * WiFi isn't the strongest, but it gets the job done. Again, at this price point, with this corporate flagship product, everything should be top drawer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just love this laptop. Very stylish, lightweight and high-preforming. I'm so glad that I paid for a larger SSD drive. Well worth the money. Starts up immediately. No problems with wifi, but did have to change the default battery settings which were set to maximize battery over signal strength. Once I did this, everything worked great.
