I followed the instructions to the letter 3x and even added the buttons by hand and it just doesn't work. It accepted my cable remote and seemed like it accepted my RCA TV but it didn't. I hate it and I can't return it. Looking for a better universal remote this isn't worth the amount of $$ it's listed for.
The only problem I found with this remote is that any time the batteries are changed, I then have to reprogram it. Other than that, I love it!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I give this remote a 4.5, especially considering price. Good ergonomic layout, easy to program with the USB interface and add keys directly from the original remote if needed.
Activities (macros) are also easy to set up and edit.
Can only program "soft keys" in the LCD screen - would be great to be able to edit hard keys as well since some of the functions are counter-intuitive...(Prev key brings me to my DirectTv guide, not previous channel, had to program that directly to a soft key.
LCD screen and navigation is good for this level of a remote.
Some times one of my devices do not switch on in watch TV activities or in watch movie. So once in the wild have to go to help button. But I'm happy with this remote couse instead 4 remotes I just use one!
Pros: easy set up, nice design
Cons: screen switches off to fast

Hard to program. I put frest battaries in it it work for 2 weeks then went out.
I purchased this remote as a way to operate all my components and replace all the yucky remotes and confusion. It is a very capable remote and has had no problems knowing or learning all my components. I even used the learning function to add an unknown command from a remote...easy! I also like the computer interface and it's point and click use. The one issue I have, but may be my own lack of knowledge is when I set up a macro for turning on my DISH and TV. Once both are powered on I have to navigate back to the DISH commands to operate in normal use.
Pros: ability to learn any commands, computer interface
Cons: macro leaves you needing to navigate to the compon
Actually there was no battle but this product did give me the ease of having a remote near me. I let my hubby worry with the individual remotes and I have the one that does it all!
The screen makes it easy to switch between the items you want to control. I'm still learning but it is a great product!
