I am very pleased with my appliances. I am almost 83 and have filled my side-by-freezer with homemade soups and frozen meat cuts for quick and easy meals
It is now exactly 3 years old and the ice maker stopped working. When it did work, it was very noisy while the water was filling, and when the ice cubes dropped into the bucket. The crisper drawer handles keep breaking, so I had to put a screw in it to keep it from coming a part. Water droplets keep staining the front of the door under the handle. Finger prints show easily and hard to get off. Water filter needs replacing $$ ever 6 months.
The good features: interior LED lights, consistent temps, nice looking, lots of space.
The fridge works well. The shelves hold plenty and the arrangements are infinite. However the ice dispenser manufactures cubes that are linked together. The ice maker is sealed so if it ever jams, there is no way to unjam it. As for the water, the first 4 to 6 oz of water from the dispenser come out room temperature. After that the water is cold. The price\performance of the unit just makes it an OK buy not a great buy.
Initially I was told the Kitchenaid refrigerator I wanted didn't come in white. I bought another brand and hated it. The store found a white Kitchenaid, I exchanged Brand X, and now I'm completely satisfied.
I like this refrigerator because of its space, especially the space saving "ice maker in the door" feature. It makes a huge difference in the amount of freezer space I now have.
Our 7 year old refrigerator could not be fixed (not a kitchenaid) so we needed a refrigerator quick. The repairman told us Kitchenaid was the best. We found just what we wanted, and we absolutely love it. It has so much more room, with the icemaker being in the door. I love the LED lights, the drawers you can see through, the pull out shelves. It does not dispense ice very fast. That is the only drawback.
