Works well, hard to keep black top around burners clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Should be stainless top around burners or grey speckled like my last Kitchen Aid stove. The glossy black shows every little crumb like dandruff on a black sweater. Other than that, it does a good job of baking, dehydrating, etc.

Within the first 2 months the oven ignition switch quit working and I was out of it's use for a couple weeks until the repairman came to replace it. Fine since then. The only thing I don't like is the noise that both the automatic ignition makes and gas lighting occurs. It is so loud that it has frightened my 10 year old lab from entering the house when I am using the oven. My husband doesn't like it either. Almost would rather have a pilot light so at least that much would be quiet.
Pros: easy to use, Convenient Features
Cons: Noisy

I had hoped to get away without the manual oven cleaning. also I find that the grates above the burners are very hard to keep clean. do you have any suggestions? never
Had gas before and find cooking different, My pots seem to heat around the outside edges before the centre boils. it also takes longer to boil than on my old electric burners. I thought gas was supposed to be faster?
