Amazing printer!

I have been using an R1800 for over 3 years and loved it. But, this new machine is astounding. Even its "speed" setting is made up of deep blacks and fully saturated colors with astonishing definition. Setup was the easiest I've ever experienced. It runs on my network flawlessly and from the first print, using it was simplicity itself. The best printer I have ever used.

R2000 by Epson, Rocks

I have been using Epson printers for 8 to 10 years and have appreciated their overall performance and the colors. But this printer is awesome! Great colors, extremely accurate.....what you see on your computer screen is what you get on your print. The Gloss Optimizer is excellent, and it produces a finished look to the photograph. I highly recommend this printer to anyone who is looking for a wide format printer at a fair price.

Better than the R1900

I owned an Epson Stylus Photo R1900 previously. There were problems with the ink carriage and finally it died. However, I was willing to try the R2000 considering that the R1900 disappeared from the market and the R2000 quickly replaced it. I assumed that improvements and corrections had been made to the original design. I was not disappointed. The R2000 prints flawlessly with beautiful color and quality. It is much quieter than the R1900 and just seems more solid. It produces superior photographic prints from wide format 13" x 19" to 4" x 6". I have also noticed that the ink head cleaning and alignment processes do not need to be done as often. However, it is important to do this with regularity to keep print heads clean and working properly. I have also noticed the difference in quality between our other all-in-one printer and this Epson model. The Epson is far superior no matter if you are printing high quality photographs or just common black and white copies. It is also much faster. I wish I had a large format scanner attached to it as well.
Cons: Like the Photo Stylus R1900 the R2000 is a bit ink thirsty. I would be nice to have larger capacity cartridges since this is a wide format printer. I have yet to succeed using roll paper and film. It is hard to get it to run straight. If it goes through crooked it will stop in the middle of a print. I must admit, however, that operator error cannot be ruled out.
Other thoughts: This printer is very competitively priced considering the quality you are getting. Epson outdoes the competition here. Ink usage is not too shabby on every day printing and non-photographic color formats. It also has a very small footprint considering its wide format capability The Ethernet plug is a nice touch making it available to all three of my PC's over the home network.

Great Product

This is the third equivalent Epson inkjet printer I've owned. I completely wore out an R1800 and replaced it with a duplicate. I wanted an additional printer for photos to keep the R1800 for general work. The color system on the R2000 is superior, although the R1800 is so good a professional couldn't believe the prints (8-1/2 x 11) weren't professional and had been done on an inkjet. The archival quality of the ink is a giant plus and was determinative in buying these Epson models in the first place, although the wide carriage is also a big plus. I have another maker's inkjet for routine work at another location and the color reproduction is definitely inferior. (it's has only RGBK cartridges.) Only drawback of the Epson models I've found is that the ink cartridges are expensive. Those for the R2000 seem less than the R1800 since larger capacity. I intend staying with these models.

Installation and Set-up
on December 27, 2012

1.Set-up instructions were clear and easy to follow
2. The wireless set-up was very painless
3. Since the recommended installation process for the printer specified a printer to USB cable the printer should be sold with the cable.
4. I was disappointed that the printer help book contained little if any on the ICC color profiles.
5. Initial color prints are very nice. I used the R2000 color profile.

Great home printer

I bought the R2000 last fall and love it. It prints equal to or better than the prints I was sending out to professional labs. The set up was very easy. Inks last a long time and when you do need to change them it's quite simple. The only thing I would like better on this printer is if it would print wider than 13". But I knew this when I bought it.
I would buy this printer again and have already recommended it to someone else.

R2000

First of all I am a hobby photographer but I am picky about color and picture quality. This printer exceeds my expectations for color and meets my expectations for b&w. The b&w is good but not quite neutral to my eye. If I did a lot of b&w I may have considered the R3000 or R2880 which we also have and does a great job on b&w. The R2000 certainly rivals or surpasses many lab printers. It has printed well on any paper I put in it so far. I am very pleased with the purchase so far and would do it over again.
