Flexable Quality & Easy to Use

DVD/CD Printing, Large Format Printing (for me anyway), General Service (checks/pdfs and on-line and pictures of all types on wide variety of paper formats. ALL WITH EXCELLENT QUALITY on demand.
Ink consumption is reasonable at a variety of quality settings and best of all, at close to 2 years old. It just keeps on ticking just like my 740 and 1280 did.
My hopes are that I can keep getting driver updates.

Epson Stylus Color R2000

Very pleased with R2000. With my calibrated monitors, my images print out exactly as seen on monitor. (Photoshop CS5, Adobe 1998 RGB)
Set-up was easy and straight-forward with excellent directions. Networking, wireless or ethernet, is rock solid, as it is on my Epson Artisan all-in-one. So far, a great photo printer. My only concern, as with all photo printers, is the ink usage and cost. The R2000 produces professional quality, long-lasting prints and is an excellent choice for photographers.

Replacement for R800
on December 4, 2011

My R800 gave me over 6 years of excellent pictures, but it finally gave up the ghost. Did lots of research because I wanted a new printer that gave me the same quality pictures. The R2000 was the choice. I like the gloss optimizer since I usually use glossy paper and make color copies for scrapbooks. I also wanted to stay with an Epson printer.
Bought it, installed it in the afternoon and was printing pictures that evening. Excellent skin tones and vivid colors. Easy to operate. I probably will never use the roller, but like the fact that I can now print on my scrapbooking cardstock paper. The 12 inch paper fits which is a great plus!
The black and white works great for coping my geneology prints. I want to try it on more modern pictures in the future.
Would recommend this printer for anyone who is a scrapbooker and often needs copies of prints but doesn't want to make constant trips to have copies made. Also nice if you need to change the size of a picture and make a reprint.

New Epson R2000
on August 3, 2012

I just purchased the Epson R2000 printer to be used on a wireless network and the latest Mac Mountain Lion OS. I had a little problem with the install until I downloaded the latest print drivers from Apple to add support for the R2000. After that the install and wireless configuration went very easily. I printed out a couple 13x19 images onto Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper and was extremely impressed by the quality of the output. The colors just pop when using the Luster paper. All told I printed 10+ pages on a mixture of 13x19, 11x17, 11x14 paper, and ink usage has been lower than my old wide format printer. The images are all extremely sharp except on the 11x17 paper. I could not find a profile to match the paper and the output from the profile I tried was not satisfactory. The other 8 prints with the correct profiles are all exceptional prints. Right now, I am very satisfied with my new R2000.

Epson Stylus Photo R2000 Inkjet Printer

I love this printer. You can physically hook it up to your computer or you can use WiFi to print with no cords dangling. It does a great job of printing as long as your monitor is calibrated.

I purchased the R2000 as an upgrade from my R1900 which had developed some problems. This is the better printer. The installation was easy and without any problems. The first 13 x 19 print was great, skin tones and overall color were a noticeable improvement from my 4 year old R1900. I would not hesitate to recommend this printer to anyone. It fits my needs better than expected.

Nice printer

Working out of town I haven't been able to use my printer as much as I had hoped to. The color and quality are excellent on the photos I have printed. My only complaint or problem so far is that the prints always cut off part of what I see in the preview. At this point I'm not sure if it's an issue with my computer or the set-up. I will be retiring in a few weeks and hope to spend time printing more photos and getting that one issue resolved. Other than that it seems to work as promised.

Prints are lovely, but paper feeding is very poor

Hands down, the printer makes really great prints on a variety of paper media. Hence the 4 stars.
But it hates to feed paper. Even some of the papers in the Epson Signature Paper pack won't feed using any of the paper loading options. The printer seems allergic to Moab paper. Red River paper has been feeding mostly successfully.
The only paper feed that consistently works is the single sheet manual feed in the back. That's 95% of my printing anyway, so I can deal with it.
Turning off the gloss optimizer is, as others have noted, a pain, and something you have to do *every* time you print when you use a paper type that might be glossy.
Also to be noted: this is not an issue with the R2000, but many media that works for "ink jets" will not work with pigment inks. If you are looking to print magnets, transparencies and such, you will need to be cautious when selecting media or else acquire a strictly dye-based printer for those uses.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
