Epson R2000

The printer setup on my network in about 2 minutes. I find the print quality and color accuracy using the Epson Profiles excellent. My chief gripe with the R1900 was color accuracy using the Epson Profiles.
My initial impression is the R2000 is as good or better than a R2880 I own in all but black and white printing and superior enough to the R1900 it is replacing to more than warrant the cost.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Review of Epson R1800, R1900, and just received R2

I will start with the R1800 that lasted me three years and gave good prints after often cleaning that used a lot of ink. I liked the pigment ink for printing prints for family and friends thus as the cost of repair was almost the same as purchasing a new printer, I purchased a R1900 that lasted 2 years before something inside broke, Again it did give good prints. Now I purchased the R2000 as again replacement was only a few dollars more than repair of the R1900. I set up to print wirelessly, and all, including print usage, seams to work well. Hopefully this printer will last longer than the last two.

I bought a display model. Brought it home and install everything correctly. The printer only prints blank pages no matter what I try. I have installed brand new ink cartridges which are very expensive.

one BIG problem

I'm a photographer and purchased the R2000 to recreate on paper, just what I shot. Of course their is pre-print editing to be done with Photoshop, etc. After completing the edit I want to simply print what I see on my computer screen. Guess what?...it always comes out darker than what's on the screen, simply ruining the print. So, I have to go back and increase the lightness of the photo on my computer and only HOPE that I guessed right. What can be done to make the printer print exactly what I've created?

Canvas Printing with the R2000
on June 29, 2012

Before I got this printer, I was making canvas prints with the Workforce 1100. Needed some fiddling to make that work, so I was looking forward to roll printing on the R2000.
The first shock was that canvas roll printing only allows rolls of up to 2 inches dia. My standard canvas roll is bigger than this, so that was out. Tried single sheet manual rear loading and manual front loading. Neither of these would print canvas sheets.
Finally resorted to my Workforce 1100 method of attaching a card stock strip to the front edge of the canvas, glued to the rear of the canvas with 1/4 inch overlap. I use adhesive transfer tape - easy to remove the strip afterwards.
With this, I am now getting reliable canvas prints.
Once it works, print quality is very good. Ink costs are high but these cartridges are larger than usual. An option to disable the gloss optimizer and photo black that I never use would be good.

Great Printer - Sucks up ink

I am very impressed with the quality of the prints I am seeing with this R2000.
I am using Red River papers with their printing profiles and following their recomendations for printer settings.
After half a dozen 8.5x11 prints, I am seeing the cyan cartridge down by 25%. Surprising as I am printing mostly deserts & slot canyons with very little (if any) sky). Other cartridges are down about 10%.
This is my third Epson printer and I am very happy with it. I just wish the inks weren't so expensive!
