R2000 Inkjet Printer

Great professional looking pictures. Good colors and contrast.
Every time a new cartridge is inserted it goes thru a pumping cycle not only on the cartridge just inserted but all the cartridges. This uses a lot of ink which get expensive but the end result is worth it.

Love this printer!!!

I bought the R1900 Photo printer about 7 years ago and wore it out. When it was necessary to buy a new printer there was no question I would buy another Epson. When I spoke to an Epson repairman he told me about the R2000. I have had it about a month and am very pleased. I am sure I will use this one until I wear it out. I print color brochures for my husband's tour business and lots of color pictures.

Pretty Prints, but a bit frustrating

The prints are very nice. Borderless is great. However, I don't like that the default mode isn't plain paper, but glossy photo paper. If you forget to change it, it's a huge waste of gloss optimizer, which runs out quickly anyway. I don't like that it doesn't remember what paper type I chose last. It also doesn't have enough paper choices for printing things like labels. I do love the direct feed.

Ink Usage

Great unit and great photos,
BUT, the printer runs out of ink too quick ! ! !
Printed 12- 4x6 and 1- 8x10
Completly Out of Cyan, Red and Gloss
70% to 80% used on other colors
I think this is too much ink used for 13 pictures

Epson R2000 is Awesome
on January 28, 2013

Just received my new Epson R2000 Photo Sylus. It is a replacement for my Epson R1900. It works great and the controls are familiar. I mainly purchased this printer because it is wireless. It makes it so much easier to locate the printer where I need it to be at different times. The one issue I hope Epson will address soon, is the cost of the ink cartridges. There is absolutely no reason for an ink cartridge to cost more than $10-$12. This printer makes professional quality prints up to 11X14 without a problem. Great product and hopefully will last a long time.

So far, Pretty good with some reservations

This printer is a replacement for my R1800 printer that always produced superb prints, but alas, developed ink nozzle blockage, or constipation if you wish, which could not be cleared even by pouring copious amounts of ink through its system, and required major surgery for which neither I nor my Blue Cross/Blue Shield is willing to pay.
The R2000 was pretty straightforward setting it up until I had to download the Windows 8 (32-bit) compatible software from the Epson website, which took ONE WHOLE HOUR, and I have a high speed connection! And that is not all! I had to install the software three times, because it crashed twice during installation. So, what should have taken 5 minutes to do, took 2 HOURS of my time!
Once installed (I am using a USB connection), the R2000 performed smoothly and quietly. I also like the fact that the ink cartridges are 50% bigger, and am hoping that this machine is not as ink thirsty as the R1800.
So far, I have made only a few prints, and they are on par with those done on the R1800, which, as I said are superb. It is still too early to tell, but this printer seems a little less ink thirsty than the R1800, which really had a drinking problem with bouts of nozzle constipation, which demanded flooding the printhead with lots of ink to clear up!
My impressions so far are mostly positive. I will report back after I will have had a chance to use it a bit more.

Great Graphic Printer

I use the Epson R2000 to print Super B 13x19 boarderless graphic art. I use the rear feeder and 1.2 mm thick cotton cover paper. It works great because it makes seamless boarderless prints. (Does take some getting used to, feeding takes skill and patience. Page set up takes skill and knowhow.)

Epson R2000

I purchased this printer because it was recommended to me by a fellow photographer for printing art prints. It far exceeds my expectations in both black and white, and color. Excellent quality. I would highly recommend it.
