Positives: Excellent print quality Low cost ink Prints on CD/DVDs Prints large format
Negatives: A replacement print head is extremely costly - it will be the cost of a new printer. If you are not able to clean your existing print head, get a new printer instead.

Almost wireless

I purchased the R2000 printer for its ability to print CD/DVD printable discs and its ability to print large format colour photos. I have not yet put the CD/DVD printing to the test, but the photo printing is spectacular! I purchased this particular printer for its wireless capability; however, there is one problem here. In order to access the ink level monitor I have learned that I have to physically connect this printer to my PC with a USB cable. So, I guess this printer is not quite wireless. I have reported this to Epson in the hope they will develop a patch to correct this deficiency. If they can do that, I will be one very happy camper.

Great quality, affordable printer

Only had this printer for a short time, but was expecting a good printer coming from Epson. I wasn't disappointed. The color is great, gradations are very smooth (haven't noticed any banding) and it's relatively fast for large format prints. Plus for a large format printer using pigment inks, it's very affordable. Quiet too. Still wish the ink cartridges were larger but they are supposed to be higher capacity than the replaced 1900. I love it being wi-fi as it's a large printer and doesn't have to be within a cable's reach of the computer. Great for my photography.

I must be honest and admit that the first R2000 showed up and would not allow me to get past step 3 in set-up, it was not working properly, and after calling Customer service/ tech support they said I did all that they would have suggested already, so box it up and they will send a replacement. Let me say as an aside that the service was absolutely excellent, and the replacement came in about 3 days, even though they said 7-10 days likely. Once I booted it up, which was a breeze, I printed a nice photo immediately, and compared it to a photo lab produced print, and I do believe the R2000 did a better job. I like the variety of print options, and will see what I need to do when I try other paper manufacturers products (I only have Epson Premium Photo papers presently, Luster, Glossy, Matte in a few different sizes, including 13 x 19).

Best photo printer I have ever owned

I just received the Epson R2000 5 days ago. I read so many reviews looking for a photo printer that could/would print what I was shooting and viewing, especially printing as I saw it on my calibrated monitor. I kept coming back to the Epson R2000. I took the plunge and the $100 rebate offer just made the purchase more attractive. First, it was easy to setup and I was able to connect wirelessly to my LAN without any problems. Second, I set up the printer for the highest quality and I started by printing some portraits, as I have never had a printer reproduce good skin tones. Always had overtones of other colors - pink, blue etc etc. The prints matched my monitor; the skin tones were spot on and the portraits jumped off the page!!!! I compared the Epson prints with some prints from another printer.. The Epson's prints are miles better then the others. Color replication was/is superb!!! I printed some pics I took in Holland when the tulips were in full bloom. The colors were awesome, deep, rich accurate just the way I saw them. In fact, I showed my son a picture of a tulip field with all different colors and he wanted to know if it was 3D. He said the tulips just jumped off the print. I am a believer!!! The Epson R2000 is more then I imaged. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this is just the beginning of a great relationship!!!

Epson, I was in the printing business for over 35 years and I have used every brand of printer made. Soon I learned Epson is the only one I will use. I am now retired and still have 4 of your printers for my home use. 2 Wide formates, 24", 13" R2000 and XP 850, R 320 and I still plan to buy one more. I print mostley HIGH quality photos and a lot of CD's. I also use only Epson paper. Thank You Epson for your GREAT Products.
Best regards, Doug B.

I have nothing but praise for the R2000! Colors are extremely accurate, ink usage is very low, the interface to my Mac and Photoshop is totally straightforward--in short I am a pretty happy camper with my purchase!
