Good for fitness

This rower is good for home use. I typically use it 2-3 times per week for 20-30 minutes. Don't know how durable it would be under heavier use. After about a year and a half the chain twisted and kinked so that it would not stay on the sprocket and needed to be replaced. Chains need to be maintained and the design doesn't provide a way to expose the entire chain to properly clean and lubricate it without disassembling a large portion of the unit. The chain was either dirty or the lubricant had dried out,causing it to kink.

All parts arrived in a well packaged box, without any damage. Assembly was straightforward, but I used my own tools as the foot-rests were difficult to properly assemble to the frame with the 'wrenches' provided. The hand-tightening bolt used to hold the fan assembly forward was bent (cheap steel?), so I replaced it with a regular hex-head long bolt.
Rower motion is great, does it's job well. Very smooth. Holds up well to sprints. Easy to roll away and put into storage.
Under quicker strokes, I find the foot-rests to unseat and come loose, which is unsettling. I wrapped a strap around the slots in the step pad and through the foot rest frame to eliminate this.
There aren't a lot of moving parts, so I find it should be durable enough for daily light to moderate use.

A very good product

After knee surgery my doctor told me to avoid jogging or any distance walking and instead use a non impact device like a stationary rower for exercise. I went looking for a rower that was affordable but would also stand up to anticipated use by myself and wife. I ended up selecting the Stamina 1405 air rower and am congratulating myself on a very good buy. The product features and price are more than competitive for comparable products and it has proven to be just what the doctor ordered. Also, anyone who can use a screwdriver, wrench and allen wrench can easily put it together in less than 1/2 hour. Though it provides a nice storage option, this feature was not important to me as we have a dedicated space for it.

The machine works really well except for the rollers. I've only had the machine for a few months and am already on my second set, which are also starting to break apart. They leave small hard chunks behind, which leave black marks down either side of the metal post and impede rowing. When functioning properly, the machine is great, but the need to be in constant contact with the company to replace parts that should not be breaking down this quickly makes it more effort than it's worth, especially for the price. I use the machine every other day and am well below the maximum weight rating, so it seems like a manufacturers defect or cheap rollers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Have had the Stamina ATS 1405 Rower for a month now and have used it several times each week. It provides the workout I was looking for. The rower arrived in excellent shape, all parts were there, and it was easy to put together.

I just bought this and was impressed with the ease of assembly and use. Sturdy and easy to use the only thing i would like would be to control the resistance but with an air rower that depends on the user which is fine. Great workout
