[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We adopted my son at 8 months old. Soon after he was diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome which makes learning about many abstract concepts (like time) very difficult for him. Over the years we have bought several watches both analog and digital but he has had difficulty with all of them. Now at 16, he has become more aware of his need for scheduling and consistency. His routines are his connections and he is often in need of knowing what time it is.
I ordered this watch for several reasons:
First, it was a Timex and was waterproof so he doesn't ever have to take it off. Needing to take of his previous watches has resulted in watches getting lost or taken.
Second, it has a large digital face with easy to read numbers but doesn't eat your wrist.
Third, it had day, date and time so you can ask him not only what time but what day it is. This helps him keep track of not only daily but weekly schedules. When someone is unsure of the date, he can also help people out by looking at the month and date on the watch. The ability to offer folks help is a real winner in his book.
Finally, it was relatively inexpensive so that if he DID happen to lose it, it wouldn't be the end of the world.

It's a great watch, well thought out, very durable. It has everything I need in a watch. As long as Timex keeps making this watch I'll keep buying them.

The LCD face has a soft green background and is easy to read. Nice wrist strap. My first one lasted 12 years.

i have owned about 10 of these monsters over the years, one just as good as the next. could not find it on website for quite a while, then checked on a whim, and found it !! bought 2, just in case it disappeared again...buy extra web straps, they tend to wear out a lot sooner than the watch.
