I bought this fan 4 months ago, started using in June. I have awning style windows so made a frame to allow the unit to stand up in the frame. I have a room with north and east facing windows with the north window being the one with this fan. I use the high speed setting and exhaust out the window. The east window has another type of fan drawing in air. with this set up as the outside air temps drop below the room temps I can cool the room from 80+ degrees to 74 degrees or less depending on outside air temps.

Did not set out to buy the thermostatically controlled unit ( six blades x 2 ) but it was the last one standing as I found out the ( three blades x 2 ) manually reversible models ( I own two ) are extremely noisy. I have no use for the thermostat as I prefer to run mine full tilt on exhaust. I am extremely satisfied with the ( six x 2 ) bladed unit I use in my 12x10 bedroom. I am adding another six bladed unit in the kitchen window replacing the three bladed model.

After having one of these fans in my window for years, I moved to a new home, and broke it in the move. (Sad face) I went down to the store after I settled into my new home, and bought a new, cheaper, "reversible" fan similar to the one I had. It was NOT actually a reversible fan but, rather one I could remove from the window, turn around and put it back IN the window. VERY annoying. (But, it was cheaper.) Now, I understand why it was cheaper, as uit really was NOT what I wanted. THIS FAN IS WHAT I WANTED! So, a finally coughed up the extra money it cost, over the other fan. Even though this one is more expensive, it is COMPLETELY worth every penny! I love this fan, and now have peace of mind in knowing I got what I really wanted!
