I bought this black & decker toaster a couple of months ago. I am impressed on how well it has managed to last me. I use it as an every day necessity because I love toasted bread. It toasts my bread exactly how i want it. I have noticed that my day is better when I use this toaster. I will never go back to another toaster. It does not overheat or does it smell like plastic when my bread is toasting. I am very impressed with this buy.

Works great and looks great but the cord is way too short and comes out of the middle of the side instead of the back. Almost sent it back because of short cord but I can make it work rather than the hassle of sending it back.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very poor and unsafe design

The operation of the toaster itself is fine. The 18" power-supply cord is way too short. Also, placing it on the control end exacerbates the problem. Commonly used on a kitchen counter, this places the toaster directly under the cabinets in most cases. Use of extension cords for appliances is normally a last resort. The instructions present that a longer power-supply cord or extension cord may be used with caution. (Got a chuckle with the mention of "tripping" hazard) Supplying a longer (30-36") power-supply cord initially would be safer and better serve the consumer.

Great toaster at affordable price!

I am very happy with my purchase. It is very easy to use, works perfectly and cleans easily. My old toaster is Black and Decker brand also, still works after 20 years, but for decoration purposes I purchased a black color to match the color of my other appliances.
