not what I expected

I don't think the picture print is as goo as the 3210 I have. It can't do with scanning and pix what the photosmart can do. No Tif save; no negative scans. Duplex and wifi is nice. I'm going to keep it because you don't sell what I really want. I'll wait it out until the industry can give me what I want for a decent price. I shoul have researched this better and may begone with another brand. I guess I'm getting lazy.

really like the printer

This has great features, it takes a little to get used to the touchscreen for features and to touch it in the right place. Prints clear and crisp in both color and black&white. Easy to set up.
Don't like that the software keeps turning on and off to see if the printer is still there if it is turned off.

Disappointed-. Drivers selection lacking

I like my new HP Officejet Pro 8600. Features: great, performance: excellent, However, I think it's ridiculous that I have to get a different printer on my network so my kids emac can print. When I realized a compatible print driver was not available I almost sent this machine back. This is not a way for you to keep longtime HP fans in your corner. How hard would it be to provide a compatible driver download?

Great printer, envelope printing awkward

Great printer for printing documents. It is fast and will do double sided printing. The envelope printing is awkward, however, as you have to remove the paper to print an envelope. Sometimes we still need postal service mail and if you are sending form letters and only changing names and addresses on the forms, this printer does not lend itself to jobs such as that. My old HP 7600 only required you to put the envelope on top of the paper. In MS Word, once the letter is formatted you only have to go to the print envelope feature and everything is laid out. With this printer, you print the letther, then you have to remove the paper, put in the envelope, print the envelope, then replace the paper for the next letter. It would be much easier to just be able to put the envelope on top of the paper in the tray or have a separate envelope feed. This way takes a lot more time than with the older printers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Ink Jet Printer I've owned to date!

And It wireless (WiFi) to boot! I printed from my iphone, my girl friend iPad, and my iMac, scans with easy, copies great, and I have not try the Fax yet! Extreamly happy with this printer.

I am a very loyal HP printer customer. I work from home so my printers get a workout. I have always been happy with HP performance. When it was time to replace the old gal I never even looked at the competition... just went to the HP website to find a model that met my needs. I've only had it in operation for a week so far. It was easy to set up; no issues getting connected wirelessly and I really love that I can print from my iPad as well. Print quality is what I expect from my HP printers - excellent. The only complaint I would have is that it is pretty noisy. While this printer is not that much different than my previous model the amount of clunking, squeeking, and thrashing about is quite a bit more. Time will tell if this affects its life of quality service. I would have given the product a 5 star rating if it had been as quiet as my former printer.

Great deal on a great printer

The printer was very easy to set up wireless. The print quality is terrific. Too early to tell about the durability but I always had good luck with HP. If you can pick one of these on sale do so!
