This is the first all in one ePrinter. The rest of them was just print and picture and this is why I stayed with HP due to the quality of the printer.
I still think you have to go a long way to beat the HP Printer.

mislead about duplex copying
on February 14, 2013

Does not perform duplex copying, which the advertising leads one to believe it does. I am a small business, and I rely heavily on duplex copying - 2-sided original to 2-sided copy. I will be wasting a tremendous amount of time reloading the copier - or paper if not - to create 2-sided to 2-sided.
In addition, there are basic inefficiencies with the physicality of the printer: the ADF tray does not lift up smoothly, which means that I have to fully stop what I am doing to use 2 hands to lift up to obtain the original underneath.
Lastly, you can't load the paper tray without having to reset the outlet slide every time.
Scanner: the scanner does not have a function where you can save to PDF only a portion of the pages that you have scanned. Therefore, you cannot scan several documents at once if you want separate PDFs for each.
These are intuitive features that have existed on each one of my Canon multi-use machines. I bought HP because I have been told that they are more durable than Canon, which only seem to last 3 years. However, if I am wasting so much of my otherwise billable time on these inefficient actions, I might as well get a Canon and get back to work.
For a small business, every one of these actions is a waste of time. Time which I do not have to waste.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Everything but it doesent have self duplexing. You have to turn the pages over and run them again.

Replacement Officejet Pro for Windows 7
on November 24, 2011

HP no longer supports the Officejet Pro 1150 printer series for Windows 7 and as a consumer I felt forced to purchase a new printer and chose the Officejet Pro 8600. I do not like the fact the unit comes in only one color, black. The Officejet Pro 1150 series had a white body which looked nicer in a home office. The digital features of the Officejet Pro 8600 are substantial. I wonder if this new printer will work as well as the Officejet Pro 1150. The new 8600 unit prints well and was easily ordered and functions in a home network setting.

Good for the money
on November 25, 2011

The printer was impossible to hook up wirelessly to my main PC for some reason and I could not figure it out. I eventually used a USB cable and it connected fine. I was concerned that I would not be able to use the e-print and other wireless features as the instructions warned that if you used a cable to connect, you would lose all of these features. They were wrong. I was able to easily connet my other wireless PCs, I-Pad and so on and the e-print feature worked great from my Android phone. Directions were sketchy and not very detailed. Otherwise, great printer for a great price with some great features that allowed me to eliminate my scanner and fax machine in my small home-office.

Great Pro Air-Printer

I have & use two other HP printers. My C7280 is not a compatible Air-Printer and can not be up-graded. The new 8600 is as good as it gets. It works like a charm with my new iPhone 4s.
