Mechanical Problem and 6 hour installation

There is a mechanical problem with the cartridge door which requires I repeatedly press on the door - otherwise I get an error message: "Door is open can not print". Setup failed 85% of the way through which required extensive attention - 6 hours to install
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought the 8600 to replace a Lexmark printer. The 8600 is performing great. I use the printer on my wireless network.

This is a great printer, super easy to set up and it does everything I was looking for. My only thought is that possibly I should have gotten the 8600 plus because it can scan legal size and also it scans directly to email. Since I would seldom use these features, I opted for the 8600. I am very happy with it as of now.

Initial setup failed due to a leaky ink cartridge. HP sent me a new set of cartridges and a new printer head. Setup is very easy. Printer works great!! Highly recommend.

Good for business printer, not for photos

I bought this printer for my daughter, who wanted an all-in-one that did not consume massive amounts of ink. She's been very pleased with the printer, except for her attempts to print color photos on HP Premium Plus Photo paper. You'd think that paper should work great on an HP printer, but it doesn't on this one. Photos print OK on other company's photo papers. Disappointing in that regard. Otherwise, scanning and B&W printing work fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better Than Expected

I've been using this printer for two weeks so my comments are within this context. I was impressed with how easy it was to install and the copies are definitely adequate for my small business. I also like the two-sided copying. Very nice!

I love this printer. It performs as advertised and has great features. This printer costs more than lessor printers but what you pay in extra cost you make up for by getting more pages printed per ink cartridge. You pay for the printer by not having to purchase as many ink cartridges.
I have purchased two more printers for my granddaughters when they went off to college. They also love the printer.
I would recommend this to a friend!
