Purchased this unit as a replacement for a 10 + year old Baran that finally gave up. This is a lot lighter than the old one but seems to have a faster stronger spin on. I use is to mix my potato and macaroni salad ingredients together, so its not straining for sure. I did find that this blade is smaller that the previous unit, although it didn't seem to make a difference, it may when mixing solids.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been wanting a hand blender for months. My Mom got me the Cuisinart Qwik Prep for my birthday this year, and i couldn't be happier with it. It takes a lot of extra work with your hands-out of the way.
