freezer door problems

Every time I close the refrig door, my freezer door opens enough to let air in. I lost food in my freezer because I didn't realize the freezer door was not sealed. I was told to put vaseline on the door seal. This seems to work, but I keep checking the door to see if it stays sealed. I was told I am not the only one who had this problem. I think this is a manufacturing problem, and there should be a fix for this.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

When the door is closed too hard, it can force a large amount of air into the adjacent compartment, popping the door open. Try closing the doors more gently. Works well for the price.

I bought this Frigidaire refrigerator about a month ago and so far it is working well. The freezer and the refrigerator sections keep my food nice and cold and I did not have to adjust the settings to a higher temperature. My other refrigerator was also a Frigidaire that I bought about 13 years ago. Even though I expected it to last longer I have been told that that is a long life for one of these newer models. It was leaking really bad and I had to replace it because it was going to be too expensive to repair. Anyway so far so good with this new one, but I will say that it is a little noisy.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Cold and roomy fridge

We've had this fridge for about 2 months now; it keeps foods perfectly cold and is very spacious for 2-person household with different food preferences. The vegetable & fruit bins are very handy, as are the 2 wide shelves in door for milk & juice containers, and the slightly narrower shelf for salad dressings, mayo etc. Easy to keep the inner fridge organized with small to medium-sized bins with slide-out drawers that we bought separately. The freezer is very spacious also. We keep track of cold temps with 2 refrigerator thermometers. Fridge is very quiet; makes a low humming noise from time to time. Very pleased with this refrigerator.

Freezer door leaks...

We purchased this model and the freezer door leaked. The dealer replaced with a new one. The replacement also leaks at the freezer door. The frost builds up inside the freezer. Everything in the freezer thaws and refreezes. The ice cubes from the ice maker melt enough to turn into a big blob when they refreeze. Several packages of frozen meat have been ruined. The dealer has been contacted and came out to take pictures again, but have not heard any response for 6 weeks. I would not buy this model again. If 2 separate units have the same problem I believe it would be a design issue.

Refridgerator

I recently purchaed a 16.3 Cubic refridgerator. The first one that was delivered was defective - leaked inside. The store tried to get us to change brands, stating that they had trouble with this particular model in the past. We wanted to keep the Frigidaire as it was the perfect fit for our home. However, now the freezer is off, the food is soft. Getting very discouraged as I'll have to go through the process again dealing with the store to have it replaced. May have to change brands.....

Hey NKeegan, thank you for sharing your review with us. We certainly hate to hear the freezer is not cooling properly. You can check your damper which is located on the left-hand side in the rear of your refrigerator section. While your refrigerator is running you can use a mirror to check your damper. I would check to see if your damper door is open and your evaporator fan is running. If your damper is open but your evaporator fan is not running you can try using a hair dryer on your damper door for about five to ten minutes to see if the door closes. If it does close please allow 24 hours. If your damper door is closed, check to see if you can feel cold air coming in from your freezer section. If yes, the damper seal may need to be replaced.
