We have a large home, 4K sq ft and thus all areas are hard to reach when it comes to the WiFi signal. This product for us was a solid success.

Too unstable to use

I returned this product after days of trying to keep it up and running. I ensured that setting matched the router, and would get a good strong signal, only to wake up the next day and nothing was working. I used the CD method, WPS method, direct ethernet method. I changed to a static IP address per some suggestions on troubleshooting I found on the web. Nothing kept it stable. Everytime I took the RE1000 out of the network, everything would function fine again. Based on other reviews I saw on the Internet, I am not alone. Just for credibility, I am an electrical engineer, so this is not my first rodeo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My son can now take his laptop upstairs to his bedroom on the other side of the house...and he says the signal is even better now! HP comes through for me again...
