Love the hardware, but crippled by heinous app

The hardware is actually quite nice, very sleek and attractive. However, the DockStudio app is horrendous.
It crashes frequently; doesn't properly overwrite the graphics on the screen, creating a jumble of menus and buttons; has some bizarre and inexplicable settings (lifestyle?) but lacks other settings that would be nice (setting your own clock background). The menus are confusing and unintuitive. And, worst of all, the app hogs memory and crashes often, and your alarm will not sound if the app crashes.
I do appreciate the fact that the hardware is very nice and the bluetooth connectivity is such that I can use the Fidelio as a generic bluetooth speaker for other music players and apps. It makes this purchase not a total wash.
I'm just hoping that soon Philips will update their terrible app so that it's sleek, shiny, and functional like their dock hardware.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good sound - VERY bad software :(

Why Internet radio? - this absorbs bandwidth & not everyone is on a phone 'plan' with unlimited bandwidth... why not build-in an old-fashioned FM-radio receiver chip?
Most of the clock & timer functions in fidelio are already on the home-screen of the android phone - why duplicate these?
At least it charges my phone and shows the time ...

Poor Docking

I love the product idea, but I have the Thunderbolt and the way it is designed, the charging port is on the bottom left side and the phone tips over from its own weight thus disconnecting itself. It needs an additional couple of inches of adapter.
Pros: awesome sound and concept!
Cons: poor docking

Good sound TERRIBLE app

Come on Phillips, i bought this dock, the sound is really good but the App crash ALL THE TIME, could you PLEASE atualize it, and i will change completely my point of view, you dont need to do much thing, JUST DEBUG THE CRASHS and it will be fine.
About the Songbird and Fidelio, please put a option to not lock the screen while the apps are running, since the dock controls(mainly change music) are on the cell phone is terrible have to unlock the screen all the time.
The Bluetooth turn on everytime i put my cell phone on the dock(option) and this is perfect, but when i take my phone off would be good the bluetooth turn off
I know the design is relative restricted couse the fragmentation, but the cell phone could not be too high, this could be better, i dont know, maybe a "hole" to put it, i dont know.
Pros: good sound, product quality
Cons: do not have remote control, the phillips fidelio crashs all the time, screen get lock all the time(songbird), bluetooth do not turn off automatcly after disc, the position of the phone could be better

They have two android applications for the dock one is getting phased out and the new one is the same as the first ap but has a different name but has the same problems hard to synchronize the Bluetooth at time and it took for ever to set the clock
Pros: good sound quality is great, the speakers do get very loud
Cons: the docking android application realy need work, hard to sync the clock, when docked its very bright

Fidelio app needs a fix

My wife offered me the dock as a present a week ago. The idea is great, the sound is perfect, but the Fidelio app is buggy and very slow. It disconnects suddenly during the night and then the alarm doesn't sound.
Why Philips is not fixing this app? The rating of this app in the Android market is only 2 stars! (and decreasing...). Please, Philips, talk with your engineers to fix this app.
Pros: quality of sound
Cons: fidelio app is slow and with lots of bugs

Great idea but not 100%

HTC made phones do not mate well at all, especially the larger ones with more weight to them. There is not enough support to allow the device to be secured while connected in a landscape orientation. Simply but the phone will not stay on the dock, perhaps an additional bracket could make this work, but as is this product is a fail with our HTC phone. Really want to love this product, unfortunate that something as simple as it not being able to stay plugged into the dock is making it unusable.

Finally Alarm/Dock for Android (Needs Improving)

Works good on the Bluetooth. Sound performance is GREAT. Nite Lite little DIM. Not really a nite lite but more of a way to find it in the dark. BEWARE: You could have trouble if your phones charging jack (Micro USB) in on the TOP or Bottom of phone and it's not in the center. The unit is fairly adjustable but cant get my Samsung Showcase to stay put. Brackets. Sticky Pad would be great. Added a U-Shaped bracket and a small piece of rubber padding. Got CREATIVE. Problem Solved. Over all I'm happy:) It works with ANDROID not DiePhone :)
