i would recoment this one as it is the best printer i have had especially with auto double sided and the concealed paper storage isa superb printer

Good but not that good

I bought the HP Photosmart 6510e after quite some time reading many reviews. Very few were negative so I bought one as I wanted a printer that would print on both sides. This one does.
I set it up and the one thing above all else that I noticed was the RACKET the machine made. It vibrated through my computer work station and I thought what the heck is this thing doing???
After a minute or two it was up and working only to find it was printing cockeyed i.e. the print edge was not parrallel to the paper itself.
I also couldnt get it to print on both sides.
I contacted HP about this and someone there said to go back to the retailer. The retailer said to go back to HP!!!!
The retailer to their credit did an exchange for me.
The replacement too made too much noise but it prints straight and on both sides. Wouldnt buy another one mind.

I am really impressed with this printer the quality is great and its easy to use and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone.The copying and scanning functions are really simple to use with the touch screen etc and the fact you can print wirelessly from other computers has been a godsend.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Brilliant printer!

After having printers over the years from another make and them not really making the grade, I decided to switch to another make and the HP 6510 was just the thing.
It was easy to set up and link up with my laptop, the ink was easy to install, I bought a spare set of cartridges at the same time as the printer and these are reasonably priced.
The printer itself is not big or bulky and won't look out of place in most rooms. I like the way the paper is stored inside it, the paper tray is at the bottom, so it's kept flat, rather than the paper tray being at the top of the printer and curling round. The photo paper tray for 6 x 4 size is useful.
I haven't tried printing photos on it yet, but I have only bought it really for printing things of the internet and doing letters. I find the print quality is excellent for what I need it for.
Admittedly the speed of printing isn't great, but I am more concerned about quality rather than speed. The printer can be a bit noisy when switched on, but this is something you'll get used to.
Would definitely recommend this printer and it's great value for money.

Very good basic all-in-one

Negatives
Scanning is very basic. At least if you scan to jpeg you can manipulate via paint. If you scan to pdf - forget it, you can't manipulate at all unless you purchase expensive pdf software. Also, the Pdf Complete Special Edition it comes with (not Adobe as advertised) is restricted to creating 50 docs or 6 months use whichever comes first. It's so noisy when starting up/working & closing. There is no scanning to OCR unless you purchase expensive software. I would cheerfully return to my old 2210 which was also a fax, scanned to OCR and would allow me to freely manipulate scanned docs without addiional software. Perhaps I should have purchased the next model up but it had shocking energy consumption.

Don't get me wrong, if you would like a speedy basic printer with very good print quality this is the one for you. No bells, no whistles - just a lot of chirriping.

This printer is a must for anyone with an iPhone or iPad . So simple to set up and start printing unlike some printers I have purchased. Print from abroad or work or from your armchair. Glad I bought this printer. Joner

Great Buy

I bought this all in one printer mainly because my old printer was the same brand and I was delighted with that one. This new wireless printer is great to use; was quick and so easy to install (in fact a joy - I felt I was just talked through it so well with the demo. )
I like the fact that you only need to buy the ink which has run out and not the whole lot. The print quality is good and photos clear and good colour. The best bit - it there is a problem the machine tells me what I need to do to put it right - I don't have to work it out by myself !!
