A very good buy indeed.

I looked at many printers before I came to the conclusion that this HP Photosmart 6510 e-All- in-One-Printer was the one for me. It was within my price range. It looks good, it was easy to set up and begin printing. For its size, it is very light to pick up too. The quality and clarity of printed photographs are "top draw". All in all, this printer is such an improvement on my old HP printer (which, by the way gave me a few operating problems when trying to print because of jams).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Scan to Computer Issues

Printer is very good in all respects apart from the continued inability to scan wirelessly to my computer.
Have tried all the fixes on the Help Menu but these refuse to correct the problem.
The thing doesn't do all that I want and that is most disappointing.

Good but noisy

This printer prints with fairly good quality and fast enough for our home needs but it is mechanically noisy in a home environment..
Automatic 2 sided printing is a bonus and works well.
The display is reasonably intuitive.
Our network is now all wireless and connections were reasonably easy to set up.
We took a massive chance buying another HP printer. Our previous HP Officejet was only 3 yeas old but hopeless with windows 7 64 bit. I wasted days trying to make the wireless software reconnect when connections kept failing. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this model keeps a stable connection.

love this printer upgraded from an older HP (15yrs) and find it quick and easy to use.
It connects straight to the web and can print on both sides of the paper.
it can also print via a phone connection but I don't know how to do that yet.

Beware before you buy!

I bought this model because my other 18 month old HP printer just suddenly stopped working. I had some spare cartridges for it so chose the 6510 because it was compatible with these. However, in spite of listing the 'XL' cartridge (greater capacity) as being useable in the 6510, there is no way that they fit. So I now have to dispose of 4 new XL cartridges and keep buying the, more expensive, smaller capacity ones. No more HP for me!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Wireless printing - the way to go. Now all users on our local WiFi can print without those troublesome cable connections. The mail-to printer option is a real revelation, means that documents produced 'on-the-road' can be sent back to base no problem. The colour print definition is stunning. All in all a very pleasing purchase.
