This printer i bought does everything it says on the tin.I would recommend it to anyone and the wireless connection is a god send,Very pleased with the product

Best thing about this was getting my money back the day after purchase. It printed fine, just screwed up every sheet of paper that went through it.

The best printer I've ever used.

I am very pleased with my all in one printer. When I got it I was afraid that I won't be able to set it up and get it going, so had asked my daughter to come and do it. As she was busy I decided one evening to have a go and found it surprisingly easy. It was wonderful when I did the first print. Since then I have used the scanner and copy features and found them just as good and easy to use. The idea of a wireless printer baffled me at first. Now I can't get over the fact that the printer and computer talk to each other without wires. I have not yet tried out printing by e-mail from a distance so have that to look forward to. The quality of the printing is very good. Photos are also very good. The compactness of this equipment is also an asset. It fits nicely in a corner. I would certainly recommend this product.

Excellent value for money

I purchased this printer to replace a previous HP all-in-one that had served me well for several years. I work from home & space is of a premium so my choices were restricted somewhat - basically the printer needed to fit on a particular shelf. Having read mixed reviews on the Photosmart 5510e I was a bit unsure but it is a neat, compact machine which I can load from the front - big plus! I have used the printer now for several weeks and I am very pleased with the performance. The print quality is good & for a home office the speed it good too. It was easy to install - just a little issue with connecting to my wireless router but that turned out to be the router settings & was easily rectified by my ISP. I can't comment on photo print quality as I haven't tried this area yet. The touch screen is clear & easy to understand & although the print cartridges are not the cheapest on the market, they are still reasonably priced. Being able to replace seperate colours rather than a general colour cartridge will help reduce the cost overall.

Set up of this printer is extremely simple and far quicker than anticipated. Installing & aligning the print cartridges/heads went without problems. I would add at this point that I haven't had any issues with printed pages being out of alignment at all that others have reported.
Ok, the paper tray is flimsy, but so are most at this price level that I looked at in various retail stores.
The problem I have had is with the message centre. I continually got messages telling me that I had just installed new ink cartridges & should run the alignment process - again & again... Even if I changed the message centre settings to not have these, they still came. At this point I emailed HP with the printer's problem, to which i got a response by return.
To cut a long story short (5 days of emails both ways) the issue was fixed and no more messages. I have this printers software on an iMac running OSX 10.7.4 (Lion) and there does seem to be some sort of compatibility issue here, but it is fixable!!
So now the printer works just fine, with no issues. It works well on WiFi & via the eprint system too. How often I will use sprint remains to be seen. Ink usage also seems very good. Having printed off lots with the setup inks (which I'm still using) so I have no complaints here.
Overall this printer seems to offer good value for money. Even taking into account the irritation with the alignment messages, HP were very patient with my somewhat strident emails and are to be congratulated on this & resolving all issues.

To be honest, I purchased a similar printer, which had to be returned to the supplier within two days of purchase as the paper was incorrectly fed through the feeder, which in turn led to skewed print on the paper. The printer was immediately replaced by the shop.
This replacement is currently working well.
Concerning my recommendation, I can only tick one of two boxes above, would ideally like more time to test the product.

Good basic all in one

Effective printer for the price. Simple documents print quickly and clearly. Scan is efficient. Ideal for home use.
The first one I received had a pagination problem, but this was replaced quickly and efficiently by HP and I am very pleased with the replacement.
