Very slow

I have been very disappointed with this printer. It had a very good write up from Which which is why I bought it. I can't use the wireless option as I am still in the dark ages on XP but that doesn't matter too much. My main gripe is the speed. If there is a hint of picture of colour then it takes absolutely ages to print. The quality of both black and colour is good even set on fast draft and the speed of black only is fast but the colour is so slow. I have to plan my printing leaving any long projects until I am finished and can go and leave it, sometimes for several hours if it is more than about 30 pages long. Better quality colour takes even longer. 10 pages took about 3 hours until I found out about "fast draft".
Sorry HP I will be looking elsewhere next time unless you can speed things up. Pity as the print quality is good.

A Great Purchase.

A great price, ease of use and great results make this an excellent printer for home or small office use. The four ink cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) with on screen ink levels seem long lasting, are simple to change and so far seem cheaper in use than previous HPs I've had. Genuine replacements cartridges are competitively priced and readily available.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Network nightmare

I purchased a HP 5510e as I wanted an economical printer for home use that could connect to a PC and IPad2 wirelessly.
The printer will not connect wirelessly to the PC and I have exhausted all of the fixes on the HP website and gone round them several times. This has taken several days of my time. I managed at one point for a limited time to print wirelessly from my wife’s IPad 2 but then the printer went to ‘sleep’ mode overnight and when I tried to print in the morning, the IP address had changed and I could not print at all. I have successfully added a non-HP printer to the network wirelessly, as a control.
I don’t claim to be a computer expert but have set up Wi-Fi networks before and added hardware to them. This is my second HP printer and I’m sorry to say the first one was temperamental when a wireless connection was used.
When you can get them to print, they’re good and very economical. But the reality is if want to get a HP to work, you have to use a cable.
Very disappointed and have am taking this printer back to the vendor (luckily, they are a big UK supermarket chain and good about this).

HP for me always

The reason i always choose HP products is because they are simply the best & if you should need a repair i was asked if i could have my computer packed in 1 hour for the driver to collect & it was back with me in 48 hours mind you this is now my 3rd HP Monitor,Base Unit & Printer & i have to say honestly it broke my heart when my Photosmart C4180 printer finally gave up the ghost but this 5510e all-in-one is fantastic so easy to setup & use & i can do almost anything with it not bad for a 70 year old novice is it possible to buy an extended guarantee for it as i have done with my monitor & base unit as this one will go on for ever i dont know why people would buy anything but HP

Great printer/scanner/copier

Photosmart - This is a wonderful compact piece of equipment - it has replaced three older style individual items and the office is much clearer!
Printing - good quality, quick, efficient
Scanning - clear, crisp files produced which can be sent on or print to a high standard
Copying - previously 3 ft x 18 inch machine - this now produces excellent quality, quicker, cleaner - need I say any more!

This is the fourth printer i've had, two of which have been HP. Both HP printers have been the better ones, but this 5510 really is superb.

This machine is probably as good as sliced bread! After pulling my hair out with other makes, I decided to buy HP.
When setting up from new, READ and follow instructions and you should have no problems. Can be used either wireless or connected to desktop tower/laptop via usb port.
The machine works quietly and quickly. The inks are economical, they seem to last forever! The quality of the photos printed is excellent as is the document printing.
I really like the touch screen facility, copying is quick and straight forward. Load paper, lift the lid, put in document, touch screen, done! When changing ink cartridges or requiring info, the instructions appear on the touch screen.
With the front loading system the photo paper needs turning over when loading, The folding away paper feeder is a boon.
The printer goes in to sleep mode if not used for a while, also I find the machine needs turning off when finished using or the machine will be switched on automatically at PC reboot.
All in all to say I'm pleased is an understatement.

I've had a few printers in the past, and this is one of the best. Quick printing and the quility is excellent. The only issue that irks me is the noise. From the carriage to scanning, why is it so loud?
Apart from that a great machine.
