Doesn't get cold

I'll soon file a warranty claim. Forty-eight hours after I turned this on with the default 3-snowflake *** setting my frozen foods thawed, ice cream melted, and the refrigerator area was just cool. An infrared thermometer confirmed that the freezer section was right at 32F and the fridge at 42F. After two weeks at 5-snowflakes *****, the half-filled freezer is still only 6F (recommended temperature is 0F) and the half-filled refrigerator at 40.1F (recommended is 37F).Something moans worse than the 34-year-old evaporator fan in the Whirlpool refrigerator this one replaced and the machine clicks and clacks disconcertingly.Also - the plastic drawers have a distinctly cheap feel. The can rack is useless for me. It's significantly deeper than my old refrigerator, and that one wasn't exactly shallow.I hoped this would be a simple replacement for my old, reliable Whirlpool - but it isn't.

Disappointed in this one

This was a step down from the one it replaced. No light in freezer, no ice trays, makes squee noise evertime you open and close doors and tried 2 times to order parts and kept getting wrong parts from dealer and you. The one we replaced was a Fridgidare and almost $150 cheaper, I am really disapoined since I have your dishwasher and clothes washer and they are great. I expected more from you.

Forget the Frills

Water through the door? Forget it. Don't want useless energy waste and smaller capacity. Color matching? In a couple of years I'll be rebuilding the entire kitchen, and at that time this one becomes the basement spare. These are major pluses in my view.Problems: the door for the butter compartment is slightly too small for my big hands. The racks inside the freezer door are too narrow for doubling up on the boxed vegies, or most other things. The compartment for the cheeses is on the wrong side, making beverage accessibility somewhat awkward.But it is quiet, and that is a big plus for me.

We replaced a fancy side by side with ice and water, etc, through the freezer door. Just more "stuff" to cause trouble. This unit with the installed ice maker does the same thing for much less money, and, the ease of use is just as good. I have good hands and arms and can easily open the freezer door to get ice. Besides, water through the door means replacing water filters frequently, a real pain.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am totally satisfied with this refrigerator. I was pleasantly surprised, at first apprehensive to purchase on line without seeing in person, that the insides were of great quality for the price. Great buy!! Thanks Whirlpool. The ONE thing I would have liked help on "how too" would be how to remove the plastic protective cover without the pain of trying to get the residual out of the cracks. Ugh!

I just received it and unpacked it and the doors plastic shelving units rattle. They show this caddie which you can not utilize unless you remove it each and every time you want to put something in it. It does not come out with ease. The vegetable draws are so thin and you really can not regulate them. The light bulb got very hot while we were unwrapping everything. I really thought this was going to be an improvement. Maybe it is time to reevaluate this product. I am disappointed. This will be my last Whirlpool product I purchase.

I wanted a simple refrigerator with an ice maker for our basement. This one has great inside space and the ice maker works great and is so easy to empty. I love this refrigerator!!
