I purchased this to replace an old garage unit. I've owned for several months and have no major complaints to date. The fridge/freezer has worked well in the garage even in cold temps which was my only concern before the purchase. The drawers seem a bit flimsy but I don't overload.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The refrigerator is quite noisey. The full width shelves are very inconvenient. The butter storage bin is too big and takes up too much room on the door. On the exterior, the doors have a smooth finish, whereas the sides have a textured finish.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does the basics very well

This fridge doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but that's not what I was looking for. I was looking for a basic refrigerator that has decent capacity, acceptable noise levels, and keeps food cold. It does all of these well. I appreciate that the interior is clear so that I can see right where everything is and it doesn't seem dark. I appreciate the capacity on the doors and so far it seems to be constructed well enough to take the abuse of my kids. My only complaint is there is one slide out tray on the door that seems to want to open up on it's own all the time. I can't figure out the usefulness of this feature. This is such a minor annoyance I almost didn't mention it.

The 21 cu. foot top freezer refrigerator is adequate. There is no light in the freezer. The shelving in the refrigerator is not movable to rearrange larger items in various places. The shelving on the door feels like it will fall out at times when you reach for something. It makes loud noises but they indicate this is how energy efficient refrigerators work. Innovation in side the product is not noticeable - perhaps the innovation is with the energy efficiency. This refrigerator is keeps food cold and the freezer freezes food.

This refrigerator is simple no extra bells and whistles except the ice maker. Size was the major plus as it had to fit in our built in cabinet area.

Whirlpool Refrigerator paint finish is poor

I bought this refrigerator and ignored on line comments that this refrigerator looks like it is covered with blotchy water spots after you remove the manufacturers protective plastic coating. It only appears where the plastic was but that is the entire front but not under the handle areas. Whirlpool knows this happens because I spoke with their rep. The rest of the unit is a standard refrigerator. The cold and freeze sections all run from one temp set gage so the freezer is too soft often when the cold section is correct or the cold section makes items too cold if the freezer works well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Fridge

Excellent features, quiet, single thermostat control works as well as any dual control in refrigerators costing twice as much as this product.I checked the temperature consistency with a highly accurate thermometer for two weeks. Once the temp control is set for the surrounding conditions, about two days to stabilize with proper setting ( environmental, amount of food in fridge under most scenarios,etc ) the temperature remains at a constant 0 to -2 degrees F in freezer section and a steady 35 to 36 degrees F in fridge section on all shelves from top to bottom.Good product for the price. I would highly recommend this fridge for folks looking for a good looking basic fridge, who do not require unnecessary bells and whistles.Like the large butter compartment and the soda can shelf.The only addition I would like to have had would have been a light in the freezer compartment. We can live just fine without it.Overall,very satisfied thus far.
