Organized freezer at last!

For three years, I have wanted an upright freezer. I was tired of never being able to find what I wanted in my chest freezer and cleaning it out was a pain. I love the fact that I can organize my freezer stock and that everything stays where I put it.

Perfect size and quiet

I bought this freezer to replace an old chest freezer. I had been wanting an upright freezer for a long time, but my old freezer was still running okay. But, when I saw an add for this freezer, the price and features were too good to pass up.

We've had our Whirlpool freezer for about three months, and so far, so good! I had to shop by size, due to the built-in freezer space in our 1960's pantry/laundry room, and I was very happy to find such a nice freezer in our size range. Our freezer is very quiet, very cold, and just perfect for our pursuit of buying healthy foods. We recently split a side of beef with a friend, which still left us plenty of room for my organic frozen fruits and veggies and the multitudes of whatever my husband makes and freezes with his Green Mountain Grill/Smoker. My overall rating would actually be four and a half stars due to the shelving. I would have preferred one more shelf (there is plenty of room) and the bottom section being a slide-out drawer instead of that funky gate thing. I don't like to stack food too high on the shelves, because you need the air to circulate around them to keep things cold, plus it just gets messy. To make up for the "missing" shelf, I put in some hanging wire shelves that work okay. You can't put anything heavy on them, but they do help to utilize the space left from the very widely-spaced permanent shelves. But overall, I love my pretty new freezer!

Purchaced this to replace old freezer. It has very fast cool down,took less than 3 hours. After ir ran for a while it got very quiet.

I've had the same freezer (chest) since 1979 and it was used. It was time for a new freezer (UPRIGHT). I love it. I could not be happier with my new freezer.

Not off to the best start

Great when it works, like that it pulls vacuum after the door is opened. Down side is that a part (heater) failed within the 1st year. Covered under warranty but still. The freezer it replaced was 50 years old and still in working order, so that's my base line.
